had a look at DoW2 retribution
looks pretty cool, theyve even got an inquisitor as a character,
id buy chaos rising but im heading bk to manchester in 2 weeks and once bk in the uk ill be jobless for a while so need to shepherd my pennys.
Its taking all my creative thinking to come up with an excuse to buy TCG when i get bk

I finished Chaos Rising today (see my comment bitching about the last boss earlier), it's far too short imo. though it was good.
@ Roldom: definitely give Dark Crusade a try for the original DoW. Also, I'm gonna get the second expansion for DoW2, "Retribution" as soon as it comes out.
SIlencer: Retribution is gonna have 4-squads again.... and ORK SQUAD LEADERS.
WHO ARE ACTING LIKE PIRATES..
ORK
PIRATES.
just when we thought 40k can't get more epic.

Yeah, there is not much more I can say to this. EPIC kinda sums it up.
I'm also hoping for more varied objectives and the full slew of campaigns. That should be awesome if they can pull it off!
yeah, that's my main woory/thing I want to see.
I mean, I love DC to death, but it would have been SOOOO much better, even if they did something as small as give each province a diff. backstory depending on which side you were playing.
From the website though, it seems that Retribution will tell "the full story", so I'm hopeful.
I'm also expecting crazy amount of customizations options for the 'nids, since they only get 1 character squad. Aside from the Orks (for the pure hilarity), that's the one side i'm most interested in playing.

@MTS - yeah, I have to side with Roldom here. XD
You just don't appreciate the true and subtle art of thread-killing. Philistine.

@Roldom - true that, though I'm not sure we actually need the help at all. I'm sure it's appreciated down there, though.
@Ment - I try not to get my hopes up for games, but every time I seem to let myself get hyped. Looking forward to lots of possibilities, but until I get my hands on the thing I'm hoping for improved customisation, and the stuff I already mentioned, and that's all.
@MTS - you're kidding me? I'm a thread killer from way back. XD

Also, am finding it odd that emergency response teams from Australia, land of many recent and devastating cyclones and fires and suchlike, are being sent to NZ for the earthquake in Christchurch? Would have thought you guys had your hands full atm. :S
When you live on a continent where everything has the power to kill you, your emergency response teams become really efficient.
That was a fun read. It was like an old crew reunion (and I'm still too noob to be a real part of that).

I actually remember the one game I deliberately set out to spam. Ok, I don't remember anything about the game beyond day 1, because my spam saw me NK'd the first night. I was RI and having a whale of a time, too. It was one of my most disappointing deaths ever.

Yeah, good times. And when did you join the ranks, Shin? I can't remember when you started playing...

I think it was one of the benses game. I turned down the role, b/c I was too busy to play that week, and Shin stepped up. turned out I was supposed to be BB....

The Masquerade game was my first. I was an RI but an RI that could be lynched with one less vote than necessary for anyone else. I lasted...3 days I think, and had no idea what the hell was going on. I was lynched for low posting.

That was my 3rd or 4th game I think. I was shocked when I opened that PM. I remember walking home from work, pondering in my head the whole time how I was going to fight the finder reveal, and who to pass BB on to.
Poor PB. He didn't want it, but he won the game.

oh, yeah, you were a Nosferatu. it's not all bad, you had a kill BP. which I forgot to factor in when I did night resolution, killing PB....
but nothing tops the epic fail of m45 revealing Camarilla in that game.

Forgot about the kill BP. I had fun, I was just lost. The fail of M45's reveal was over my head at the time.
One of my favorite reveals still has to be from this series of games, the "healing catapults" reveal was teh awesome.

Hmmm, mafia 43. I think we need a new tier. "Newbies", "Old Hands", "Grizzled Ancients". XD Let's face it, playing since mafia 40 is a lot of games and time. O.o
Wait. Holy shit that makes it bad for people who were playing back in the teens (me, Ment, and co) and really, REALLY bad for people who were in the single digits. I'm not even going to talk about the people who started it all, before they got proper numbering going. O.o

What number was Vampire?
And roldom, I'll run a "grannies making tea" mini sometime, just to prove it can be done.

Hahaha, yeah, epic.
OR, back in LOST mafia (what a clusterfuck), Obdi claiming SpySat 117, BP, LP, unlimited kills and the ability to nuke the whole island or some other such nonsense. JumpAround trying to bluff being able to call the Smoke Monster twice (which wiped out 2/3rds of the people at one camp, iirc). Oh that game was a mess. XD

you could have a murderous old granny poisioning the tea, another with healing biscuits, or one who knits a tea strainer guard

Actually, what I really want to do is set up a series like this one, but using the Warring States period of Japan as the backdrop instead of Romance of Three Kingdoms. There are so many awesome characters and events (and the names are a little less confusing). I should wait until this series is done though.

I regret never getting to play with JumpAround much. His reputation around these parts is immense.
