In MT there was a lot of talk about how the Letherii worship The Empty Hold, especially the throne and what not. I expected much the same from RG. However, that was the case until the very end where Brys Beddict comes back. At that time a we start seeing mentions of him being the Saviour of The Empty Throne. So now I have a question or two:
1) What is the Empty Hold/Throne?
2) Why is it so important?
3) Why is Brys known as the Saviour?

Here is a series that will for ever inspire me. Not only as a writer, but as a person. Mr. Erikson has shown us both sides to the human condition. He has shown even the lost, the destitute, the forgotten and unwitnessed can triumph.

like sail said, the empty hold and throne are linked to the errant, and it is important in letherii life because the errant ins their principal god, plus he lives in the city.
brys being the saviour is more unclear, maybe just because his ressurection kind of heralded the end of the errants meddling in letherii society
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

The Errant is a nudge nudge guy and knows that to exercise true power you should not be face of the power. The "empty" thrones purpose is to attract people to power and then trap them in that goal.
The Empty throne is also a metaphor for the emptiness of Lethers culture.
Many people consider Brys to be the savior (including Edur), for doing what he did to Rhulad and in helping the ancient gods and in general abstaining from seeking power to fulfil his personal ambitions.
