NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Damn! Dresden crack dose needed ASAP....Summertime?!?

Okay, I'm calm now. Jim can take as long as he likes actually. As long as it's delivered this year, I'm still happy.

I hope it is delayed because he was about to release yet another sloppy story like Changes and he realised he needed to fix it...

I only just started Summer Knight, and this topic gave me a scare that I might have to wait for more crack after finishing Changes.

Yeah, I imagine my withdrawal won't start really showing till April-ish....

...at which point I am sure you'll find me shaking while drawing a chalk circle around myself with some pizza and holding an exacto knife talking to non-existent faeries.

Actually that works in certain circumstances.

- Abyss, ...notes those circumstancs may involve a lot of absinthe and criminal charges...

Boo!

On the other hand, this news has reminded me to check the schedules of some of my other fixes, and to my surprise the latest installment of Kate Griffin's Urban Magic series comes out in two weeks time... I was completely unaware of this. :unworthy:

I mention this in part because while it's not much like Dresden, it's a great urban fantasy series so far and might assuage some of those Dresdenshakes if someone wants to take the plunge...

I'm taking solace in the fact that Will Hill's DEPARTMENT 19 review copy should be here soon.

..and I pre-ordered THE CRIPPLED GOD from Amazon.co.uk...which should come by February something or other...

Honestly? I've got way too many books to read as it is. If this one gets pushed back a bit, it's okay by me. ::ducks and hides::
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

In fairness the beginning of the year is so good anyway that this slip really just means the distribution of talent is a bit more even through the whole thing. I mean even making the presumption that Republic of Thieves isn't out in February (it's still scheduled as such on many lists but there've been no announcements about it at all) we're still getting The Heroes, The Dragon's Path, The Wise Man's Fear and The Crippled God by the end of April.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

This is a VERY fair point. It will give us something to look forward to in the doldrums of July books-wise...in prep for the book-busy release month of August.

Btw cats, I heard people are dicussing the first four chapters of Ghost Story on the Butcher forums, which Jim read at a signing or something. Supposedly there are chapter summaries up.

Apologies to those who work hard to resist spoilers.
