Total Biscuit has made a niche for himself within the PC MASTER RACE community by putting a lot of emphasis on the technical aspects of a PC game when he does his "WTF"s. Hell, he may, possibly, if you ask him anyway, have personally made the developers of The Darkness 2 put in proper FOV scaling, just by bitching loud enough about it over Twitter. You should hear him complain about the textures in Prototype 2.

Yeah, I got that impression. I believe he managed to include some bitching about the Prototype 2 textures in the Darksiders II video. Something along the lines of 'at least they're not as bad as the textures in Prototype 2.'

Played a couple of hours this evening. Got through the first big mission I think.

I really like the game. It feels great. The combat is fluid and satisfying. The art and voice work is great. The music is phenomenal. The gameplay is even more reminiscent of Zelda games this time I think and the world feels much more "open" than before.

I do have to agree with Mr. Biscuit though. The quality of the textures is appalling. It looks like a 4 year old game. Luckily the cartoonish nature goes a long way towards hiding it.

played through number 2, enjoyed the opening, but it gets really tedious and repetetive toward the end. having to get three of everything to progress is also a pain in the fucking arse. "oh summon the champion you need three stones" "oh summon the guardian you need three stones" "get my staff its in three fucking pieces" "three souls", "three fucking everything".

also the most irritating thing of all time is int he game. the fact that your character can do some seriously cool shit int he cutscenes like run and jump for miles and switch to his reaper form to fly, yet he cant even jump over a small step if the developer doesn't want you too. i mean if i fall off a ledge i can fly back up, but god forbid i just want to jump over one of the many fecking gates on display or low walls that dont have a convenient wooden support at the top to hold onto. i mean your death, and you cant hold onto a little bit of broken stones?

Completely agree with this. What annoyed me the most was the travelling. While it was nice to be able to fast travel they didn't think this entirely through. Every time you wanted to switch world, which I did a lot to find that missing piece of collectible or turn in a a side quest, you had to warp to a gate, slowly trot to a portal, go through, quick travel again. Instead of just letting you quick travel straight from point A to B. And you're so fucking slow when you are in the "town areas". You can't even use your horse. I honestly don't even know why they included the horse in this game. With the quick travel implemented you hardly ever needed to use it and it felt more like an after thought. They should designed some more areas where the horse was needed.

It also felt like they did a lot more with the story in the first half, while you were just rushing through towards the end and the setting and characters felt less polished. That gun section on earth was horrible.

Still, it was a good game, the combat felt great, the enemies were cool, the puzzles and platforming worked great, it just felt like a disappointing second half considering how good the opening of the game felt.
