If you did get me it, I would listen to it all day.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I asked for a ton of fly fishing stuff. All my wife had to do was retrieve my shoping cart at Big Y Flies and pay and merry Christmas me. I actually sold my comic collection on ebay about a month ago and made about $1500. Spent $500 on new fly rod blanks and rod building supplies for myself and then went nuts buying my wife everything she had on her list and a ton of stuff for my 16 month old daughter.

I didn't ask for anything for myself. Asked my mother to get some black socks for my father.

This isn't a "do-gooder" impulse. It's just that I pretty much have everything I need or really want, except absurdly expensive stuff (new set of hearing aids) or things that can't be provided to me (my girlfriend not halfway across the world, mastery of Brazilian jiu-jitsu).

Maybe I'll ask for some mustard greens for the bearded dragon I'm taking care of over winter break. The dude is so chill.

aw snap! i knew there was something i forgot to ask for this christmas! bearded dragon! damn, those little buggers are cool :)

for reals though, i asked for AC: brotherhood and tCG on pre-order. usually i just tell relatives to get me gift cards for book stores or such things. keeps it cheap and i end up getting what i want. of course christmas wouldn't be complete without some sweater from my gran, but i can usually stand to wear them

The same thing I ask for every year, books and beer.

video games, gift certificate to B&N, work pants (i give them website and item # along with color and size, so there should be no screw ups) dvds and other stuff.

On the other hand my Dad's list looked like a the inventory of the stock room of the local liquor store... so shopping for him was a breeze...

I believe she ordered it from BBC store online at some ungodly shipping cost (to get it to Canada from UK or wherever the heck their warehouse is). No idea where else they are available. Thinkgeek might have your answer.

I didn't ask for anything material...

I asked only for immaterial things such as love and happiness...

Gift cards to Lowes.

Everyone i know hates giving money or gift cards, but i tell them, the only thing i need is new kitchen cabinets for the house i'm remodeling.

I'm hoping they'll all pull through, but i'll probably end up with another quilt from my grandma.

I never specifically fo stuff for ask for New Years' (that's when we give presents) stuff. not since my teens, I don't think. I'm expecting a Chapters Gift certificate, and probably some item of clothing that's useful, but i'd never buy myself (A nice dress shirt/tie/suit jacket). My mom's become blessfully practical, even though i'm only 23 and she knows what I want.

Aside from that, it's been a great year, my dad bought me a new laptop in the beginning of the year, I also got a new phone this year. so, I don't need anything tech-wise. and they don't really know what I like in books. and, once again, they've done a ton of small things for me (like my mom co-signing on a 60 g student line of credit), and I won't ask them for anything, because I dont' really need anything. and if I do need something, I can probably afford it myself. that being said, going back to school this year was the best thing that probably ever happened to me, since i'm actually enjoying what i'm doing, and I seem to be good at it, so i'll leave it at that. no point in getting greedy.

Or, you know, a guy from the Internet who lives in the city where Dr Who is filmed and where the Dr Who exhibition (with attached shop) is based could probably find it in said shop and send it for a lot less than having the BBC ship it across the world.

If only you knew a guy like that... :)

There is absolutely nothing I desire and, thus, nothing I thought of that I could ask for.

They got me a television.

^^exactly. My family gets me lots of books, but my mom prevents anyone in the family from getting me alcohol of any kind - that comes from friends! Hence I now have a nice little bottle of St-Remy by my bedside :p . The downside to the books though is that I gave the family a huge list so I wouldn't know exactly what I'll be getting... but then I couldn't buy any new books since October because I might be getting them all at Christmas! (Cleverly, I left SW off the list so I could get it myself and not wait 'til Christmas!)

Furthermore, I will undoubtedly get some clothes (it's hit or miss with me and my family), and I also suggested that someone get me new computer speakers as my bunny chewed through the current ones' wires a couple months ago.

Alas, alcohol is not an option at my age, and I have enough books to read right now that I doubt I'll be getting anything but The Crippled God for quite a while.

Still nothing I could've asked for. Except maybe some more RAM, but that can wait until I get a new computer in a couple years.
