I got The Sounds of Star Wars, which is really cool, some awesome, rink-level seats for my wife and I to a Philadelphia Flyers game (ice hockey) from my mom, as well as a new jersey, sorely needed clothes (I hate clothes-shopping and am not too fond of the current style of jeans-eff you hipsters! I want my rave pants back!) and Dust of Dreams in paperback, once I can find a copy that doesn't look like crap. But I was more excited to give my wife a really nice Harry Potter box set that I had to order from the UK, and the reaction was priceless. I'd post the video but she'd be pissed hahaha

Hmmmm, I got mainly money this year, as I was a sad sack and said there was nothing I wanted or needed, expecting some intuitative present buying for me, sadly this didn't appear. Although my flatmate got me 'The Aleph' By Jorge Luis Borges, which is pretty interesting. My brother bought me some CDs, not the one I asked for, and one which I already had.

Thankfully my rents still insist I have a santa sack, at the ripe old age of 22. So I got a copy of Maus, which is a pretty brilliant comic, another non fiction book, and chocolate coins (ofc) dark chocolate, coffee and cookery things.

Not a bad christmas, except for the Man Flu.

I feel the same way! I trust that means it's a good series. Mr PigDog bought it on recommendation (from me, who had it on recommendation from Sister PigDog) rather than prior knowledge. I hear it's good, if it's better than BSG I shall be rather pleased. So far, I made him watch the BSG pilot and the main comment afterwards I got was "Oh, so it's actually good GOOD? I thought you meant it would be shit good, y'know like Star Trek". I can't decide if he should be embraced or destroyed for such comments...........

I got new speakers to replace my bunny-chewed ones, and holy crap the sub-woofer is so huge I can hardly lift it! It is bigger than my laptop!

Also, I got books 4, 5, 6 and 10 of Dresden Files, as well as some money from grandparents which I'll be using to buy books 2, 3 and 7-9!

well, New Year's has come and gone. My parents splurged on two awesome jackets for me: one's faux-leather waterproof, and a genuine leather one. My parents' best friends got me a Cahpters gift card, for the amount I am unsure of, but probably within $50-100 dollar range.

I treated myself, purchasing a new gaming mouseand going away up North with my friends for NYE.

I had the best haul!

Perfect for rednecks.

  • Giant shopvac...6.5 horsepower motor and stainless container. It's ridiculous and heavy
  • A giant custom-made set of bonfire pokers from my parents. One poker and one log-roller, each 5ft long cast iron, plus a stand that spikes into the lawn to hold them.
  • beer making kit
  • Books on gardening
And some not-so redneck related stuff

  • bunch of house-related stuff and marriage related stuff (me & the wife gifts) like pots, pans, christmas trims, etc...
  • conference / tradeshow clothes
Plus right after christmas, my plow driver quit because of the steepness of my stupid driveway, so I had to buy a Toro 828 snowblower. I'm counting that as a present too. It's awesome. Throws snow into outer space basically.

I got it for my birthday 6 months ago having already seen it all before on DVD. I watched it over the summer and then 'just put one on while I was working...' which led to me having to watch them all again. The best series HBO has ever done (I love Rome and BoB).

I havnt seen the Sopranos yet though...
