Malazan Empire: K'rul and Mother Dark - Malazan Empire

ARRGGHHH! I seem to be going on a topic rampage...


Do Gods have to go through all the levels to become Gods, i.e. Mortal, Ascendent, God??

Because if they do, then where did Mother Dark come from if Darkness was all there was in the beginning???

Also, I though Mother Dark and teh Tiste Andii etc. dwelt in the Warren of Dark in the beginning, but it says K'rul created the warrens but Darkness ame before K'rul didn't it?
