Who wins this fight between two of the great assassin characters of tMBotF?...Kalam Mekhar and his skills as a former Claw and Bridgeburner vs the deadly poison blades of Rallick Nom... Who is left standing in this one?

Kalam. Easily. Rallick may have been top dog in the little kids pool, but Kalam played with the big dogs and was respected as one of the best that had thought for the Claw.

This really is a discussion on their knife fighting abilities and not so much the rest of the skills needed to be a good assassin.

Both of them lack a warren. So it becomes a question of reflexes, strength and experience. Kalam has more of everything.

Yeah, not much of a contest here, really. Kalam easily wins this.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Rallick is considered second in the Daruhistan Guild. Kalam is considered the 4th?3rd? ( not sure if Topper is above him or not, although Pearl was sure Kalam would have won a knife fight) in the Empire. Comparing what Kalam has done in the books with Rallick's feats, there is no contest.

(I didnt vote, because comparing assassins is useless - just because of nature of "īsin". Are they going to be stalking each other in big arena or what? If you turn off element of being assassin, I would vote for Brys as best assassin, because you are comparing only fighting power)

It is okay, because Magneto was secretly using his magnetic shield to protect himself... or something.

ok Rallick is good...of course, he's no mage and that makes him even cooler and lots of people are afraid of him...

however!!!

Kalam...is repeatedly mentioned in the same vain as Topper...who is clearly number one with no disputes...well...except for Kalam.

Although if we're being fair...the two greatest assassins in the malazan world are

Dancer

without contest

and then either
Topper, Cowl or Kalam

Topper and Cowl have the mage abilities though

although in TBH I think pearl or someone mentions how Kalam would arguably own even topper if it was just blade on blade...

urgh although in TTH Cowl is mentioned in a mage duel with Rake himself...and the question stands...

'who blinked first...was it...cowl...or rake'

so

erm

urgh

greatest assassins ever

phew!!!

could be any of those three but im pretty sure Topper is better than Cowl, Kalam is the best with straight knives out of anyone
Rake is no mage...so meh

and Dancer would rape, ROFL and shiiiiitteeee on all of them at the same time

haha

I'm Sorry. You forgot Sorry. I mean Not Sorry. Not Apsalara. Sorry, I mean Apsalar, not Sorry.

Oh, nevermind.

As much as I love Rallick and the house of Nom, the mind overwhelms the heart in this one and Kalam has to take it, however I think the actual battle woudl probably end up with both of them sittign in a pub somewhere drinking and watching Torvald and Karsa clean up town ;o)

Pretty much agree with this.

Also, I think Kalam could beat either Topper or Cowl, depending on when in the series the fight is, and which blade he unsheathes first.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I demand Telorast & Curdle plushies.

It could easily be argued that Rake is the most powerful mage in the series so I have no clue what you mean by Rake is no mage...
