Hello all. Could somebody please remind me of the past events surrounding Nemander and Phaed? Phaed's ghost (or Nimander's conscience disguised as her voice) keeps speaking to Nimander, referring to events in Reaper's Gale and what happened between them. The entire plot-line involving these Andii was the least interesting aspect of Reaper's Gale for me, so I don't remember much about what they were up to before they hooked up with Clip.
Thanks.

Phaed was going to kill Sandalath Drukorlat because she didn't put up with Phaed's bullshit. So knowing that, Nimander stayed awake for a very long time and foiled her attempt. Sandalath didn't want to kill Phaed, Nimander was stunned, and Withal just said the fuck with this shit and tossed her out a window, after Sandalath left, of course. Nimander, still stunned, watched him do it.
Withal's most badass act ever. By far.

Thanks, HoosierDaddy, it's beginning to come back. However, your reply still has me scratching me head. What exactly was Sandalath Drukorlat doing/planning? To be honest, I don't remember a damn thing about these Andii. They were on Drift Avalii, right? Or am I way off there? Ultimately, I should probably just re-read the whole damn series, but that's far too daunting a task for me right now.

No, they were on Second Maiden Fort, having accompanied the Malaz invasion fleet to Lether. Remember they met up with them in Malaz City at the end of the Bonehunters?
Sandalath was simply assuming Phaed would never try to kill her, or, alternatively, that she could handle it if she did. She was very wrong. Withal understood that Phaed would keep trying to kill her until she succeeded, so he just chucked her out the window once Sandalath left.

They were in Drift Avalii but after HoC they left and arrived in Malaz City were they met Sandalath and Withal. Then Bottle found them in TBH and they went with the Adjunct to Lether. Phaed, being a vicious person but thinking she hid it well, became dismayed that Sandalath could read her so easily (or something like that) and tried to kill her while they were at Second Maiden Island. Hoosier said the rest.
