I needed a break from this series 6 months ago, but in retrospect I should have just said to hell with it and jumped right into the next book. I'm still barely into Toll the Hounds and everytime I arrive at a new character I find myself struggling to recall what happened. Fair warning: I will likely be bugging people consistently for the next couple of weeks.
Cutter and gang (Spite, Mappo, etc.) have just pulled into Darujistan (sorry about the spelling) in their ship. I know they've been wandering on the sea for quite some time, but I'll be damned if I can remember what they've been up to. I know Heboric was involved. What happened there?
I'm almost embarrassed about how much I've let slip.

In HoC Cotillion sent Apsalar and Cutter to Drift Avalii to see what was going on. People died. Cotillion sent them to Pust's templte to await further orders. Apsalar realized that she was ascending and didn't want to drag Cutter along so she left. Cotillion sent now emo Cutter to protect Felisin Younger along with Scillara, Greyfrog and Heboric.

In TB Cutter and co are travelling through 7C when they are ambushed by the Unbound Imass. Heb dies (he gets better - sort of) and everyone else is stabbed a lot. Felisin Younger is taken by the Imass and fed alot, which is weird but not important. Cutter feels like failure, having lost Apsalar and now Felisin. Scillara sexes him better. Along with Barathol who saved their stabbed selves, they go find a boat to take Heboric's corpse to Otataral Island. They are at sea when the Jade chunks fall and their boat is trashed. Mappo and Spite pick them up and continue on the Darujhistan. Apsalar travelled around killing people for ST/Cots until she hooked up with the 14th and went to Malaz island where she killed most of the Claw, then retired from working for gods to get good and drunk.

all we see of spite before hand is her working with the nameless ones to free the Trobhenl thing which attacks mappo and icarium (apologies for spelling), unusual that she then works with the trell...guilt perhaps?
