Agree with you, Ulrik, about Bruthen Trana. I think it a very sad fate for him to be eternally wandering the lake bottom, and maybe he meets with someone who gives him further purpose. Maybe the guardian there finds him.

But that's not the last you hear of them, they're mentioned later in the book and appear to be in slightly better shape.
