Itkovian, Paran, Kruppe, and (if we're counting characters, overall) Kalam.

MOI favorites:

Itkovian. Definitely.

Toc&Tool. Toc is one of those rare cases where I've been thrilled to have a presumed-dead character not be dead after all, and Tool is just awesome. Put the two of them together, and it's very close to perfection.

Gruntle. Gotta love a man who calls the god whose Mortal Sword he is "the Whiskered One."

Ganoes Paran. Those scenes when he finds out his parents are dead and Felisin is in the otataral mines... The rest of the book is pretty darn good, too.

Picker&Blend. Amazing duo.

With Kruppe it's a love/hate thing. (I do love his mule that thinks it's a horse.)

Lady Envy. I wonder if her sister is anything like her? I can't quite imagine two of them.

Kilava, the last living Tlan Imass.

Whiskeyjack. Why, oh why, didn't he let someone fix his leg???

Hetan. 'Nuff said.

The two nameless marines.

Duiker. Brief appearance, big impact.

Fiddler. Yeah, yeah, I know he didn't show his face, but it's an ongoing love affair. And we did see him in Whiskeyjack's story of how the Bridgeburners came to be!

Itkovian and Lady Envy...and everyone else in the book, even the ones I didn't like
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

I really got into Whiskeyjack's character in this book, Tool and Quick Ben. I was already a Rake fan and wished more of him was in this book but enjoyed the bit that was installed.

The characters, or race for a better word, that had me most curious and I would like to see more of were the Seguleh. I mean come on with the challenges with Tool and the past experience with Rake you have to be a bit curious.

Itkovian. Toc. Gruntle. Paran. Whiskeyjack. Korlat. So many choices. Damn you SE. Damn you and your magic pen.

Oh, and Quick Ben - especially after:

"I am a man who releases souls - shall I break the chains within you? An easy thing to leave you helpless."

"Even easier," Quick Ben replied, "to make a hole in the ground."

Helluva book. Actually had me talking to myself on the subway. ("Whiskeyjack's dead? He can't be dead. He's dead! No. Dammit!)

Tool, Whiskeyjack, Toc the Younger, Anomander Rake, Caladan Brood, Itkovian and all the Bridgeburners.

Just so many to choose from...

(Fid in the Whiskeyjack story, obviously!)

Damn, but this is a hard question, especially with this series. I would have to say Quick Ben. Not only does he have the same name as me, but he just so happens to be one of the most sneaky characters around.

Next, and perhaps even with QB, is Shadowthrone. This guy's the legendary emperor for god's sake (or was, anyway). Plus, he giggles uncontrollably, which can only mean good things, really.

I have to admit, I like all the characters with the exception of kallor. he's just a-hole. but if I had to choose. I would have to Pick Rake. come on, his name alone is cool. Anomander Rake , Lord of Moon's Spawn, Son of Darkness, Knight of Darkness. Now would you even mess with anyone with those Titles?

I agree. Many of the other characters have grown on me while reading, but Anomander Rake is the only one I've loved all the way through. He's a total stud no matter what he does, and he pulls off the "soul-sucking sword" thing in a really cool and original manner. I especially like the scene where Rake singlehandedly kicks the butts of two hundred thousand Tenescowri. 8)

Kallor is also pretty cool. And Caladan Brood. Gruntle is pretty funny with his "screw you, Trake" attitude.

Gotta admit, I'm a complete sucker for Paran. In terms of character development I love how he's gone from innocent, naive noble with a WTF am I doing here attitude to adopting the world-weary cynicism that comes from being various Gods' and Ascendants' chew toy. Then, further still, when he assumes his 'position of importance*' his increasing decisiveness and action makes him the most organically developing character of them all.

I love Cotillion and the way he hangs around like a sarcastic Greek Chorus providing just enough information/ ideas/ observations to provide those to whom he is talking with to give them fits; that and the fact that he clearly retains a degree of humanity that influences his actions.

For similar reasons, as Cotillion, I enjoy the way that Karsa is learning about being a member of, and fitting into, the world of Children. Whilst he retains a barbarous edge that speaks to the development and operation of his own culture he is learning that life is about more than chopping off the ehads of thise that annoy you - in the future I have to admit I am dying to see a conversation between Karsa and Cotillion...heh...it'll probably end up with Karsa chasing Cotillion around the Azath...

* I don't consider this a spoiler as virtually all the faqs make note of this at some point

Quote, chapter 5, MoI
---
'It has been a long time since I last faced such a worthy opponent,' Tool said. 'All the more challenging for using the flat of my blade.'

Tool is awesome :D

Toc, Tool, Envy, Anomander, Itkovian, Quick Ben, Hetan, Keruli

Gruntle is a mean sonuvabitch. Buke is as cynnical and pessimistic as it can get. Those Seguleh are awesome. But Toc has got style - and that's what I really like about him.
Kif: Sir, remember your course correction?
Captain Zapp: No.
Kif: Well, it's proving somewhat more suicidal than we'd initially hoped.
