The timer will freeze half-way through day 3. Players may continue to talk and vote on-thread. If enough votes are placed for a lynch, then that lynch will occur when the timer resumes on monday morning, but you won't get any results before then. Players can also move locations as usual while the timer is stopped.

Sound good?

yeah, seems like it.
i'm back, but I have a headache. might have somehting witht he fact that i'm running on 3 about 4-5 hours of sleep and tons of caffeine.

i'm not sure who I wanna vote for. I'd be inklined ot tae out Rashan, b/c of his lack of subtlety in a faciotn game that makes it hard to play proper;y
I prolly won't bu up untill night, so ill vote before bed tonight, but not sure which way yet.

No, that doesn't sound good PS, but I'll get over it.

Anyway, the hell of this is I'm around for another hour, and I'm still not sure if I want to lay down a vote. Trouble is, I won't be back before we time out.

I think I'm going to vote Ruse. I like the idea of voting with Mockra (even though I still don't trust him at all after his Day 1 outburst, nobody wants to vote him apparently so that's a lost cause today). It would be a good thing to see if he's bluffing about Rashan. But Rashan is sticking to his guns on Ruse and, well, Ruse *did* come on, throw a bitch fit, and now has 2x his post count.

Vote Ruse

Will change as necessary but I like leaving this avenue open.

im not sure here, are you saying you want to vote for mockra, or that you want to add your vote to mockras ( so you would vote for rashan)
im assuming the former as itmakes a bit more sense to me, and the later comment would just be you telling us your mockras bitch...freudian slip? :p

It's both. I would love to call Mockra's bluff on potentially voting for his own teammate. But I'd also love to just vote for HIM for Day 1's antics and near-reveal.

And if you think it's a freudian slip, you probably missed the entire conversation I had where I called him a little sniveling whiner and crossed my fingers that someone would hammer him (someone like you). And I had a vote on him.

I'm signing off for the night. I'll sign in before running off to class in the morning about when the timer would run out and resolve the end of day. If you lynch early, you'll just have to wait.

i dont think anyone can be forcebly recruited, and as for desertion...

i think you can only truely desert if condititions are met,

my best guess is that people know who is in there faction in a chain

A knows B, B only knows C, C only knows the leader

so theres a kinda hierarchy

A<B<C<D< ETC

if the person one step ahead of you in the chain (the only person your aware of) is killed, then you have the option of defecting. otherwise you could defect and give away the next link in the chain, which means you defecting would cost your faction 2 players, yourself and your superior. A crippling blow to any faction

Now *this* is a good theory.

I'm with Kessobahn here. As Emurlahn pointed out, Merrid is talking about defection, not recruitment, when he mentions superfluous, but even so it's still very strange. I hardly think the ability to defect to another faction is useless/inconsequential; as Kessobahn said, it bolsters a faction's ranks while also depleting another faction, which certainly helps toward the victory conditions.

Here's my guess. D'rek loves trying new things. She did a game with recruitment. I think there has to be something else at play here for the defection/fake defection mechanic. I love the Emur idea.

Concerning the defection mechanic. Maybe everyone in this game is considered an officer and I'm just reading too much into it, but if you'll note D'rek says that officers may defect. Serc had officer in his title, Liosan didn't, which could further the theory about him being able to defect. Then again, everyone who isn't a leader could be considered an officer.

Now, my question is, if we go with Emurlahn's theory about who knows who and how defection works, then how do fake defections work?

What are your thoughts on Ruse, Tulas? Didn't place a vote down before he left for the night. My earlier beef with him was that, despite the pissing match with Rashan, he hadn't really posted much of anything, but since then he's came on and put an idea or two up of us own.

i had thoughts on this, but it got complicated and my head started to hurt but the jist is this

preson A from team X pretends to join team Y

leader of team Y is notified ( or possibly some underling in charge of trecherous dogs)

now, either there is behind the scenes messages, or when you pretend to switch you are given a name in team Y, just as team Y is given your name

i assume team Y is gets you as a number in there team which is why they accept defections, and team x is given information on team Y

you knew the name of the player who is yuan Shao, and you saw them say something controversel, you could watch and see who agrees and possibley find out every player on team Y

Its possible that PS will give the infiltrator the name of the lowest survivng memeber of team Y instead of a high ranking one, but if the chain is broken by a midlings death, then it would seriously limet the infiltraitors info gathering.

if

If I were to guess, I'd say that aftr an offer, the player makes a choice. he either defects, or fake-defects, or refuses.
in either of the first 2 cases, the leader fo the the dteam being defected into is being told that player is now part of their team. the fake-defecting player may CF as the new faction, but he can PM PS at any time to revert to his original team. possibly with some limitations, to prevent game breakers.
