Starting on page 323 when the rogue wave hit the ship... I'm confused here, when they got on board the ship they were in their own world. Yet the appearance of the t'lan imass indicates they are in a different Warren. My question is how did they get to the elder kurald emurlahn Warren? Did the crazy mad sorcerer send them there? Did the imass somehow call them there?

The mad mage's actions opened a gate that plonked Heboric and co down in the flooded warren where they boarded the Silanda. The Imass were already in the warren, appeared to the humans and proceeded to take out the mad mage and close the gate he had opened. Iirc the Imass then bugger off.

Kulp then uses his mojo to 'catch a lift' with the undead dragon who drags them into the elder warren in its wake.
