Hey, would anyone be able to tell me what the difference will be between the Bantam Version and Torr Books version that ive just noticed on amazon.

Bantam £14.00 released 17th Feb
http://www.amazon.co...86227572&sr=1-1

Torr £17.27 released 15th Feb
http://www.amazon.co...86227572&sr=1-3

From the uk site.

Is Torr the american version?

EDIT: Ive also noticed that the Torr one is around 300 pages longer and has 2 authors, Steven Erickson and Steven Erikson ????????

Tor is the American publisher. I think it's just a mistake from Amazon having that up there, especially given that it's apparently written by both Steven Erickson and Steven Erikson

I'm mightily confused at Tor having a release date prior to Bantam, though. As far as I know, the release date is still staggered in favor of the UK and Bantam getting their books out first.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Just speculation, but I think at best the release dates will coincide, and at worse the US will get it a few months later. I do hope it's the former, though.

Which one gave Steve Erickson his break?
Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Amazon's release dates are normally very speculative - the UK release has definitely been delayed from January, so I imagine the US one will also face a delay? I don't really see any reason that they shouldn't release both editions on the same day really, it would make it all much easier!

I'd think it would also make Tor a lot more money.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
