caprica after battlestar galactica ?

anyone seen the tv series caprica ?
i never saw the remade BG, didn't have the patience for it.
is it neccessary to watch before caprica ?

I've only seen the movie, but I can't imagine it taking any less patience than BSG; if anything it would require even more. But it's a separate story from what I could tell; you'd need knowledge to recognize references/pseudo-foreshadowing, but not necessarily to understand what is going on at any given moment.

C´mon...new BSG is ultimate top tier stuff. Old one is kids game (but nice in its naivite), new one is serious drama with brilliant storytelling. And watching Caprica without knowing new one... I think you would be confused. Bu its totally different style.

I really liked Season 1.0 and am stoked for next week's ep.

Did not like it. I watched the first season because I really liked BSG, but Caprica didn't have anything to do with BSG and, apart from that, didn't have a storyline that appealed to me.
