Does anyone know who we are actually supposed to be trying to lynch? There isn't anything in the OP. Are the scum other memes, or evil moderators or what?

I'm guessing Day 1 is going to be completely random. I think most people can assume there will be some relationship between the scum, whether that's off-thread communications or whatnot. But I think we've probably evolved to the point where it's pretty difficult to find those clues on-thread. Instead, we should look for two people who have absolutely nothing in common and then lynch one =D

why?....just because

inb4 Galains symp or Fake symping :(

Really SR? This didn't strike you as odd?

He follows on a vote for no reason, and brings attention to the symping aspect of it. This also shows he knows the risks of the follow vote, but chose to do it anyhow. Which seems odd for an inno.

@Atrahal, I agree that it's probably going to get a lot of attention today but if I've learned anything playing Mafia here for well over a year it's that every single Day 1 case that is made turns out to be wrong. Call it meta-gaming the game Posted Image

There have been some successful day one cases, but they did involve a fair amount of luck. The fact is we all know this game too well to do anything obviously scummy on day one.

I hath four score and nineteen problems but casting a vote upon thy foulest bane is not one.

Firstly, the fact that we usually aren't successful does not mean we should lynch randomly. That makes no sense. Even if we are wrong, we get far more information by a lynch with some basis, than with "Well, we're never right day one, so let's randomly lynch x". That just leaves us in the same situation day 2, but with fewer people.

Secondly, people do behave scummily on day one. It's just harder to pick up(stuff like being under the radar, particularly). However, dismissing day one just helps the scum. They can get away with dropping symp clues for example, because the belief that "No one would do that" lets them.

I don't see any reason for an inno to drop something that looks like a symp clue, knowing that it looks like a symp clue.

Symps do drop clues. They usually get away with it, because we all go "No one would do that" or "It's day one, so who cares".

Perhaps if we didn't dismiss day one so readily, we would have a bit more success than we usually do on it.

Vote Galain

For being symped by Sorrit. Of course it could be fake, but we've no way of telling.

Of course Sorrit can now come on and go "I knew it", but then if you knew it, and are inno, then it was a stupid thing to do.

Noone said we should ignore stuff that goes down on day one. The point that I was making is that everyone here knows to play very carefully on day one. Personally, I think we need to try get some of that hard-and-fast throw shit out there stupidity that used to be day ones ages ago. Hence my joke vote on HP and some attempts to spam it up, which didnt really work. Innoes shouldnt be terrified of doing anything that looks remotely scummy, since then noone says anything. Scum are more likely to slip up if they have to talk fast to try fit in on day one.

As for Sorrit, I have no idea why anyone would be symping me. I agree that his vote does look a little odd, not sure what it is he's trying to do.

So you acknowledge a likely 'town' CF and still vote for me in an attempt to glean precisely zero knowledge?

You lose! You get nothing. Good day, Sir!
