Or you should infer that that was well known and thus not a "wild card"ish idea. One of the two. Backstory would be nice, but so little to do and so much time in TCG.

*Every time I see the thread title, I think of Charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Well I figured it was well know, I didn't post it originally as a theory. My problem is that everytime Hetan posts something (especially in say THIS forum) I can't stop and think of how she's read it already.

Not that I don't trust Hetan to not give away spoilers, its just like this aura that surrounds the post and begs me to do extra analysis.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

I think the millions of CG believers in the Jade Giants might be used as some form of Deus ex Machina (faith = god power). Very loosely, Tavore might free tCG who will end up saving the day (= world from destruction) with Jade Giant power. I wouldnt be too happy with that ending, but it's a candidate.

Sorry, extreme newbieism here, didn't read the last 2 pages so apologies if this has been covered....

But didnt Dust of Dreams have a bit about Icarium forming a Gate blocking structure using a Sky Keep and *himself* as the finnest/seed ? I think I remember reading 'it will grow alone, but use the host for some time unitll its established' or something to that effect.

Which would imply no available Icarium action for some time...unless the finnest was the Drone/Young Matron or the souls Icarium brought through the broken 'Time/Warren' machine with him.

Does anyone have a better understanding of just what happened when the Short Tails gate was blocked...?

wildcards, so this is who may appear in tCG that we don't actually think will appear but could? well a few characters from Stonewielder could appear, not spoilering anything but what are everyones thoughts on this?
Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Icarium received the Errant's eye from Feather Witch and transformed it into a Finnest, which he used to seal the gate created by the KCNR. At the conclusion of this episode, Sinn tells Gesler that she cannot sense Icarium in the Azath, and that he has departed. It's open to speculation, but my guess is Icarium is neither dead or Azath-ed, and that we'll see him playing a significant role in tCG. And yes, he is definitely a wildcard, especially since he holds the position of Lifestealer opposite the Crippled God in the Deck.

How do you rape a cave? Do you ask, "You want to fuck, yes?" hear the echo come back, "Yes... es... es..." and get your barnacle-gouged groove on?

If Icarium tried to duplicate what K'rul did to form the warrens, his corporeal self may have been subsumed in order to manifest the structure of the new warrens. This process left K'rul with a limited physical manifestation (more so after his followers died out re: GoTM).It may be safe to assume that it'll take a while for him to reclaim his physical form.Again.
...I think I stepped in something...untoward...

I dunno, K'rul's physical form in the MoI prologue doesn't seem so limited. But I agree with your main point, that we might not see Iccy in the flesh for a bit. Or maybe we will, these new warrens seem brimming with power. Who knows? Other than those bastard advance readers of course! :)

Stonewielder gave some nice pointers

Off topic, but is that a new sig, MTS? That's easily my favorite bit of SE prose I've yet read. Pure poetry.

New as in I just changed it, yeah. Used to be a William Blake poem. I agree though, beautifully written and quite profound. Writing like that is why TTH is up there with my favourite Malazan books, it's just a joy to read.
