Am I the only one who wishes Andarist wasn't killed off so quickly? First time I read his scenes I thought he was annoying, but reading them over revised my opinion somewhat. However, it wasn't so much that I liked the character as I thought it had potential-I would have liked to see the two brothers meet.

And what do you think were Rake's motives in sending his young, inexperienced grandchildren to defend something as important as the Throne of Shadow? Was it misplaced pride, utter coldness, or a sorcery that needed blood-kin to work? Doesn't seem like the best move to me. I don't think we've seen the last of all of those kids either. Some did survive, you know.

And now for the latest crazy theory that makes absolutely no sense and has absolutely no basis in the book whatsoever, which I am only suggesting because it makes no sense: I think Pearl is somehow kin to Rake.

I know, stupid...
Any thoughts?

I am the blood of the dragon.
