Wow so we are really getting screwed here, I didn't realize it was that bad.
I was just looking at this online to see why it's so high, the cell phone companies say it's because we're such a big country geographically and so spread out but that's bullshit because other countries, like Australia, have cheaper plans too.
Apparently it's partly because the government prohibits foreign owned telecom companies and there are huge costs and regulatory barriers for start-ups. Also whenever one company raises prices, the others follow suit almost immediately, which is super sketchy. I don't know how the government lets them get away with this shit.

There's reasons for near-monopolies.

Any you guys going to jump on early to the 'folding phone' hype train? I find the whole thing fascinating, but have never been an early adopter of these new innovations. Wondering if any of you shiny and new device fetishist just can't resist and just have to get your filthy, greasy hands on one?

Well, I've been rocking with this for awhile and was just wondering if I should upgrade to the new hotness. BTW, do the new ones still play 'snake'? I gotta have that in any phone I roll with.

I not only have a permit for it, but the Kenpo Karate 'school' at my local strip mall teaches a 'personal defense using every day items' class. I've achieved purple belt status. So if you mess with me, this will be the sound every time you fart.

It'll probably cost something insane like 2000 dollars since it's basically two smartphones on a hinge.
I do like how it apparently can turn seamlessly into a tablet size screen.

Given where I'm working I should get a chance to play about with one of them soon enough. But I think it'll be a bit of a balls

Ahhh darnit. I guess its fizzling. But from the garbage bin of failures comes the spark for greater things. You guys think something exceptional could come of of this? or no?

First generation was always going to be a mess. Hopefully the failure point is removed in future releases.
But honestly, this has very little appeal to me. It's just like carrying around two phones strapped together, so heavier, less battery life (per screen), and more chance of mechanical failure. I'd really like these phone companies to stop fucking around and work out better battery technology, honestly.
That being said I at least conceptually support being able to switch from "usable with one hand" size to vaguely tablet sized screens on the go. But this isn't it. It's at best a glorified prototype for extremely rich people.
