Looks a laugh, although they seem to have changed so much from the comic it's almost pointless using the name.
It's a cracking cast and they look like they're having a whale of a time, though, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

This was a comic? I was wondering about the cheesy movie title.
I love Bruce Willis, so this is already a must see, but Helen Miren, John Malkowitch and Morgan Freeman are certainly making this even cooler.

Yeah, it was one of the mini-series that Warren Ellis did a few of for Wildstorm about 7-8 years ago. It's only three issues and the story's slight even for that so the film was always going to have to expand on it. The comic wasn't a comedy though.
It's not bad, but doesn't exactly rate as one of his better works. I'm not entirely sure why exactly my local bookshops has that of all things in stock...
It's a good cast. And Mary-Louise Parker just makes it even better.

Another link, with a bit from Warren Ellis as to why he's satisfied with the adaptation:

I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

Great article Kurt.
Off topic, is this what Helen Miren looks like now? The woman is close to 70 years old and looks better than... well, most women any age. Good lord.
