Guess i'll start like everyone else right?

Hey guys!

Yeah im new, both to this placeand the Malazan book of the Fallen.

Currently on Deadhouse Gates and my mind is still being blown. (or at least whats left of it after the Gardens of the Moon)

Currently I am angry because one of my friends let slip about something in the story.

Anyway. Love the series so far but hate how slow the frickin things are! The books are slower than a snail on a treadmill! I have only gotten to page 200 after about 3 weeks of reading constantly.*sigh* It just annoys me.

So thats about it for now. Hello again and feel free to ask me anything and stuff.

... And here I thought I was a slow reader. I just imagined you reading Dust of Dreams, full of petrified cowebs and trapped in a stalagmite.
No, just kidding. :)

Steve's books are usually 2/3 build-up and 1/3 pay-off. (That doesn't mean the build up is boring, though)
I hope you'll still have fun reading Deadhouse Gates, even if you know what happens to a certain character. It's the getting there that counts. Oh and by the way, MOI has a lot more momentum, I couldn't put it down until I was emotionally exhausted.

Trust me knowing that doesn't make that much of a difference.

As for the books being slow, I agree but then again, some books need to be slow, otherwise you don't get the full effect of them, not to mention you might not end up having to sit around and wait for The Crippled God like the rest of us. :)

Anyway, welcome to the forum, hope you like it here. I'm pretty new myself but I can already tell you, it's a friendly place. :D
Sanity is nothing more than an excuse for being boring.

They are clearly not your friend. Sever all contact immediately and apply for a restraining order and/or force field.

Welcome! The slow thing... think of it as more of a slow boil to a sick crazy awesome ending. And echoing the above, MoI is a whole other level.

It's not the books who are slow. It's you.

The question is... is that a good thing? Or a bad thing? <__>

Well, if you were a GRRM fan, you'd have read his series so slowly you'd only have had to wait one geological epoch before ADWD came out.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
