What does it mean when the Master of the Deck blesses people? Paran does this two or more times in MOI. Once I believe by accident.

Being the Master of the Deck provides Paran certain powers. I.e., when Quick has him "draw" a card into Moon's Spawn so that they can see the resting place of the Bridgeburners.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Think of it like this. If a mortal said "god bless you" after you sneezed, it's just a courtesy. If a Master of the Deck says "god bless you", then god suddenly sits up and pays attention. There's power in his words, they can push or nudge your fate.
