I'm having trouble copying the dvd of a scan we got a few weeks back. When I burn it to dvd, the copy only shows the menu screen, and lets me select the film, but won't play it.

I originally saved it onto my pc; it's in two folders, and the film format is a VOB file.
All I'm doing at the moment is burning the contents of the original dvd onto another one, but this isn't working. I'm not great at this stuff - I know a VOB file needs the accompanying IFO to work, but I don't see why a copy of the original won't work, especially as
the disc is supposed to be easy to duplicate, not copy protected or anything.

Any ideas? And while I'm here, can anyone recommend any video/dvd making software - I have a canon 7d which takes excellent video, but I've not really got anything decent to edit it, or to stick it onto a dvd with. I'd rather
ask here before I trawl through the internets.

Any help gratefully received, cheers.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

This may be useful.

I haven't done much burning lately (ever since I got my pen drive and then later external harddrive), but I remember hating Nero for some reason. Can't recall why.

Any of these quick internet tutorials will do to help.

Ignore the above, the fools do not know what they are talking about.

This is what you'll need:

A ceremonial knife. Preferably quenched in the blood of virgins.

A blood receptacle, like an amphora preferably with images of the Omnisiah depicted upon its sides, but any old thing like a gravy bowl will do.

Some silly-putty.

A tiny kitten birthed under a full moon. If you have more than one, the more the merrier.

Bacon. At least a pound of it.

A sprayer like the kind you use to water plants.

The secret rites of appeasement found in the holy scripture of the Machine God.

When you've obtained these things come back to me and I'll explain the process.

It's really not that hard.

Will the Bacon alone work?

I highly recommend using DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to burn your DVDs. They are small and simple programs. I make many DVD copies and I rarely have problems. Also, Nero sucks.

I use Dvd shrink to rip my dvd's.. Then use Nero (pirated) to burn them... :p

That was of course after I had successfully completed Apts computer programming seminars.

Nero does suck but it is relatively easy to use. I wouldn't pay for it though.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.
