So I was going through my GURPS manual the other day while building characters and came across this:

This is from the 2004 4th Edition. I already had trouble understanding how believing in the Illuminati was less severe than believing that the government has ALL the phones tapped. However in light of recent revelations I struck that example of major delusion from the list seeing as how Marvin from RED was right.

I think it's funny to see in retrospect, kind of like those ads for cocaine cough drops for kids from 1907. I hope they remove it from the list in any future edition.

There are only 23 days left till NaNoWriMo and I'm getting cranked up.
As there are RL write-ins, evenings where everyone get together and write. This normally happens in cafés or pubs. Well I'm opening up my pub to all our forum NaNos who will be participating. Once a week we will meet up here and get some writing in as well as some drink inspirations. I'm thinking a lot of stimulant based drinks.

Oh yeah, go check out the NaNo 2013 thread. Also you should sign up and participate.

Today alll virtual drinks are on me.

Give me smth good DW. It's the first time since high school I'm living at home AND have a steady job and can afford to celebrate. I also turned 26 and finally finished school for good.

26 and Free

-250 ml San Pellegrino (room temperature)
-3 parts spiced golden rum (warm)
-1 part Sortilège (whiskey made with maple syrup) (cold)
-1 part grenadine (cold)
-1/2 tsp of freshly ground ginger
-1/4 tsp of freshly ground cardamom
-Smoked salt and barley sugar for the rim.

Rim the glass with grenadine and the smoked salt and sugar mix.
In the glass add the spices then pour in the grenadine, Sortilège and golden rum over them.
When the spices start to settle pour in the San Pellegrino from high to vigorously mix the whole and produce a lot of bubbles to carry the bouquet.
Drink quickly.

I'm currently enjoying tea and installing a Linux distro onto an old computer that I shall be gifting to my God-daughter.
The fight to get this to work has been insane. While I enjoy Linux, having installed Ubuntu on my mum's computer, it is a pain in the ass to troubleshoot.

I've brought in some excellent coffee porters and stouts and some good bitters to replace that bad bitter taste in your mouth.

I've also cracked out the Scotch and Rum.

Luckily when drunk we all speak the same language.


It's been a weird 12 hours here with local annual celebrations, arguments among friends (not about the referendum) and watching the UK referendum*.


*Any and all discussions about the politics of the referendum should be had in the Discussion Forum. Also I'm not in the UK so I got to watch this from the outside.


On a slightly more neutral note I have a herb garden now and it is doing well.
