Well I won the immediate battle, but not the war.
I got my answers, but I'm still forced to do my courses during the winter term instead of some now... A one year program dragged out to two years...
At least the subsequent bike ride was fun, good weather.

Thinking back on our little exchange there and now watching Demolition Man, you can bypass the vulgarity machines by swearing in non-English languages.

I'm so fucking c*nted at this point I fear for work tomorrow. I turned up late and hungover today as it is, and having gone drinking and karaoke with my boss tonight as well there's no way I can hide it when I run to the toilet to puke tomorrow. I fear two consecutive days may be too much. Although I'm advised I shall have a "meeting" which will involve quiet time and sausage butties, so I may ne saved. Hopefully with HP sauce.

Fuck that. Toby has the greatest boss ever. If you are hungover, so is he. Commiserate with each other. If he won't let you, blackmail his ass.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

It's a she, actually. But she drinks lots of beer and watches football, so is awesome. She has also got me a pay rise and a promotion in a time of financial austerity. So yes, greatest boss ever. Compared to that lot, I'm a pathetic drinker, nobody else was even hungover properly. Sunglasses in the office, fried food at breakfast, lots of cake and a huge burger at lunch were all that were required for them, it seems.

I never said TT's boss was bad. I'm just saying that they get drunk together more often than I did with my old manager.
Don't worry TT soon your liver will be destroyed and you won't feel like shit anymore.

damn, what a day
heatwave, meaning TONS of people. With a good 7th of our staff not showing up. was scheduled to work the lowest rank position all day (hate it, stoopid automated scheduling error, making me work it all 2 weeks, making me switch with people that actually LIKE it, go figure), then switched to my usual, second-tier position (guarding water about 4 feet deep where people occasionally get illusions of drowning), and then in the middle of the day get pushed to senior guard (watching 8 feet deep pools), due to lack of staff and HUGE amount of patrons.
get a first REAL DNS of the summer, naturally.
then, 6PM, closing time, huge crowds of people that dislike the idea of leaving, since, you know, our PA system sucks and no one heard the closing announcements that started half an hour ago. one silly girl goes down an unsupervised slide into 8 feet of water AFTER the guards left, naturally she can't swim, one of the guys has to go in for her, this creates a huge commotion. A guard on top of one of the slides gets punched by an angry patron who waited in line for 20 minutes and can't go down since we're closed.
and amidst all this, some guy loses his 700-dollaR prescription glasses in the lazy river and offers reward to anyone who'd find them. a bunch of us go to look, but I find them. The man is ecstatic, since now he can actually drive home, yay, and he gives me 40 bucks for my trouble. score.
good day all around,a nd then I come home to family that just sat down to dinner and we have 2 sets of neighbours over, and lots and lots of delicious food.
what a good Sunday this was. And only 4 days of work left!
hope everyone's Sunday was this good.

And my colleagues wonder why I want to make tazers part of staff equipment.
Clients never hear the closing announcement even if they're next to the speaker do they?
I sure hope the patron who punched the guard was arrested, that kind of attitude should never ever be tolerated ever. It sets a bad precedence.
I just hope you're not being sarcastic about the food.
My Sunday is no cause for complaint, not after hearing all that.

I had the best weekend ever thank you very much. People should get married more often!
It was made even better by the fact it was a 4-day weekend. Not looking forward to uni tomorrow...

My weekend was good.
First weekend in about two months when I haven't had to work one of the two days.
It felt damn good.
Sunday was a bit boring seeing as I didn't move fast enough and my friends were all gone when I got on to MSN.
Regardless I can't complain.

hehe
well, in all honesty, our PA system is utter shit. I seriously hate it, and supposedly we'll be getting a new one next summer, I hope.
As it turns out, the guy being punched might've been a bit of an exaggeration--my manager didn't hear about it, and I didn't see it, just heard about people getting ice for the guy, so I jumped to a conclusion. plus, in all honesty, I don't really like the guy (he's kinda a slacker at the worst possible places), so I guess it may have been wistful thinking, no matter how wrong it was.
this heatwave is getting to people. I snapped at a patron today because I misheard him, somehtin I usually never do. the fact that it's the end of the season and a lot of staff (especially senior staff) are doing the ir best to not show up to work means we are constantly under-staffed, though nothing critical yet. however, for some reason in the last 2 weeks the relatively drama-free summer has become full of it. tempers are flaring, and instead of taking it easy, people are getting more and more tense.
Thank God I've only got 3 more days of this...

Football season, baseball playoffs, cool weather, the choice to wear pants or shorts/long sleeve or short sleeve and be comfortable either way. Its the best season in my opinion.

My sister is due to give birth in the next couple of weeks, and I need to get a present. My bitch of a friend completely stole my idea of a mini Arsenal babygrow kit, and so now I must i) kill her and ii) come up with a new idea.
So, options are clothes (which everyone's got it), toys (which it'll be too little to use for ages), or baby books (which I sincerely doubt my sister will read to the child, unless it has celebrities or fashion or such shit in it). Any other thoughts people?
I did see a baby t-shirt that says "Baby 1 - 0 Coat hanger" which I find hilarious but I suspect my sister would not. Otherwise, je suis stumped.

goddamn, two more days of work. Drama keeps escalating, people are getting fired.
the heat is driving everyone nuts, the people keep flooding into the park, and we are getting ridiculously dangerously understaffed.
yesterday some drunk idiot tried to assault one of our 16 y.o girls and the cops were called, just as someone broke a collarbone.
what's next?
sigh, just two more days....
