@Alt: You've seen more than I have. When I've watched, they've seemed clean. I'll admit it isn't as much as I could hope for. Uruguay have been in lots of early games here, which are super early and I don't watch as much, I'll give you the benefit.

Diving pisses me off to no end.

When Suarez shed a finely acted tear after going down with minimal contact against Bafana Bafana I remembered why I dont watch soccer as a rule. In rugby I have seriously seen people forced off a field by the ref because they are bleeding everywhere; or press releases about how someone wont be playing because they've actually had a broken finger for the last five weeks. That soccer players just roll around for no reason and then have the ref run up and wipe their noses irritates me immensely.

That is my one pet peeve about soccer. We actually have a rule that forces people off the ground if they're bleeding because they would simply just play through it. I've seen footballers play with broken noses, leg injuries and in one case a dislocated shoulder without making a fuss, but the slightest bump in soccer is such a big deal. Now I understand it's not a contact sport, whereas rugby and AFL are, but playing for the free so obviously just rubs me the wrong way.

I'd drunken book shop, but I have Infinite Jest and Under Heaven to keep me happy for the time being. Plus I'm poor lol.

You are going to love them STD, they are two of the best books I've ever read. You'll have to let me know how you like them. Time for me to get wasted, enough fooling around. Let the hardcore drinking commence!

Will do, I'm loving Infinite Jest so far, about halfway through it.

As for me staying up late, it was simply drinking enough V to sustain me through the night, I'm alright now :(

Awesome is as awesome does.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Lady alt appreciates the sentiment. I completely missed out on the you being engaged to someone on this board thing. I thought the only Malazan couple were Centz/Shira and Loki, who are decidely low-key. Congratulations then.

Infinite Jest Is Gene Wolfe right? I've heard good things about him, have two books of his I will read as soon as there is actually light enough to read on the bus to work in the mornings.
