Anyone up for multiplayer coop Magicka on Wednesday evening (eurozone)?

Can't play Magicka, only just got Just Cause 2 and haven't attached enough soldiers to walls then shot them to death yet.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

After watching Giant Bombs quick look on Magicka, I might actually be up for that, even though I'd promised myself not to buy any more games for the foreseeable future.

It looks fun. If we can get 4 people up for it, I'd be in.

Why don't you make a thread on it , Gothos?

Just finished Singularity. Fun FPS game with time travel and Russian super science. What is not to love?

I recommend it if you are tired of "realistic military shooters" and just want to blow away some silly monsters and dumb soldiers that run in front of your gun.

I would compare it to Wolfenstein that came out last year, which I also loved.

Aaand purchased Retribution myself, Pre-order on Steam with the Space Marine wargear pack. For the Emperor!
Apparently only will go active on the 3rd. Damn you staggered releases.

I've taken a day off for tomorrow. Wakey wakey early and play all day!

not huge on MP, and given my horrific lag (I seriously don't think this game is was designed with a dedicated Intel video card in mind), that's doubtful. but we'll see. once i'm done with SP, which will probably take a few weeks, given i'm back in school with all the associated busyness.

I wouldn't call it idiotic. The Imperial Guard had orders to secure the planet against ANYONE; in fact, the Speehs Maheens commend the Guardsmen that died following their orders.
Not like they could stop me anyway! :unsure:

I liked the Dark Crusade campaign myself. Plus, there was fluff at faction capitals. I think they did a decent job, even if most battles are just multiplayer maps.

It was basically the multiplayer feel (I always hate it when in single player I run into those multiplayer maps of balance) of most of the campaign that I loathed - especially after DoW had such a good campaign. Sure DoW2 still had a kinda multiplayer feel at times but it was offset by the conversations between the various characters which helped move the story along.The faction capitals were nice in DC but they weren't enough for me.

So far I played 3 eldar missions, and there are definately no multiplayer maps - in fact, so far, the maps are quite linear: tunnels, ramps, secondary objectives along the way. What the map so far lacks, is made up by a good case for diversity: each mission features a different opponent (so far, Orcs, SM, corrupted IG). Best map so far was definately the IG one: a jungle with many stairs and tiers you could use as shortcuts to avoid a scripted invincible baneblade chasing you.

Just wondering now if you could use Battle Barge bombardment to take out Baneblades.

Oh and also this: shouldn't Landraiders have more armor than Baneblades?

I get hte feel that campaign maps are all pretty much the same, but the story background changes, depending on the side, as do some of the enemies.

played the first 4 Ork misisons yesterday (including an awesome optional one--I get a feeling these will be diff for every faction), and then played the first 'nid mission just to see what it's like. was dissapointed by it being same map, but the way they do little things to spin the story was nice.

I once spent three hours listening to nothing but this. To say that afterward I felt like taking on the entire Eye of Terror with nothing but a flamethrower is to put it mildly. The 40k match which followed my Black Templar opponent got bayonet charged (what little was left after I had shot him to pieces of course).

and nothing is more pleasing than seeing dead cultists fly out of the bunker, one by one, every time it gets hit.

Can't wait till we get to the Space Hulk...

Completed the IG campaign. Last mission/ boss fight is a bit of a drag, really.... although it was made epic by 1 Baneblade and no less than 2 Russes being employed at the same time.
