I believe the head of Xbox has stated they expect shortages well into spring.

So just curious - I personally haven't even made an attempt or looked to see if a PS5 has been or will be available, but from you turds who are obsessive about it, has there even been a smidgen of a chance to score a PS5 based on your laser focused energy towards obtaining a PS5? Or is it completely out of the picture as this point and aint happening anytime soon?

If you spent the time trying to pre-order at release times, which was easier for Xbox because the places didn't just say 'lol preorders open why not', it was possible to get one.
Both sold out quickly and there are occasional refreshes of stock at retailers, but you have to pay attention and spend the time trying to get one on order.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

There's plenty of them out there. Just not at retail prices.

Hrm, Nvidia 3060ti got released today. apparently it's a cast-off from the 3070 dies, being only 10% less powerful.
cheapest my go-to parts store has them is 570CAD, before the 13% tax.
Which is... not terrible, but not something I can commit to, after picking up a 1660ti for just under 400 last year.
Still, chances are decent these'll be much better priced when I eventually do get around to upgrading.

I have never played Fortnite, but their live events seem to be the standard by which other games would try to replicate. The Galactus live event looks like it would have been great fun to participate in.
PS- If you find the streamer in this video annoying, just google search for Fortnite Galactus live event. There are tons of vids.

Attention, JRPG fans. The new PS5 trailer confirms the new Squeeenix IP by the FF15 team, Project Athia will be a 24 months console exclusive to the PS5. (still coming on PC, presumably relatively on time with PS5).
Also, the 2 Zenimax games (Deathloop + Ghostwire Tokyo are 1 year console exclusives (same day PC launch).
No word on how bad FF XVI will be yet, but, hey, Game Awards are on Thur.
In brighter news, another hack'n'slash that skipped PC in the PS360 generation will be coming to Steam, apparently. This time it's El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.

Ooh, El Shaddai got positive buzz as far as I remember. Never played it. If only Shadows of the Damned came to PC as well.

I keep hoping Grasshopper gets the rights away from EA, somehow. Most of their other stuff (except Lollipop chainsaw and the first 2 No More Heroes games) are on PC already (and with NMH 1&2being re-released for the switch, there might be a PC port down the line, because Marvelous likes Steam money).
The list of those games stuck in the old-consoles limbo is shrinking though. Which is nice.
Maybe if Nier sells well, Squeeenix will be re-release the Drankengard games? I keep hearing those were an interesting bunch.

ooh, Focus Home is announcing 2 new games at TGAs!
Given they're currently working with some kick-ass devs like Asobo, Dontnod, Deck 13 (whom they bought this year), Flying Wild Hog, and StreumOn, I'm deffo tuning in now.

SOme good stuff at the TGAs.
All the missing Yakuza games are coming to PC and Xbox.
Also, Evil West (the new Flying Wild Hog game from Focus) looks siiiick
Oh, and EA dropped cinematic trailers for New Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
And The Initiative is making Perfect Dark. And it's first person, which is pretty cool

I'm so excited for the new Dragon Age. I know it's a way off yet but it's good to have it confirmed they're still running with Solas as a main part of the story, and good to hear Varric's voice again.

I didn't watch the Game Awards, was there any interesting announcements? I saw some clip later about an Evil Dead game, which looks like it is carrying on from the show that aired on Starz (which is excellent by the way). Were there any announcements from the Game Awards show that caught your eye? What were they?

I think the most interesting trailer I recall was a cinematic teaser for a new Perfect Dark game. I've never played the games but they were popular a few generations ago.

New stuff?
Evil West, a character action game by Flying Wild Hog (the shadow Warrior devs). Be a cowboy vampire hunter armed with a lightning powered gauntlet to smash vampires to a pulp. Comnig 2021. Focus also shadow-dropped a 2d platformer called "Shady Part of Me", which looks kinda Contrast-ish?
The former producer of Dead Space is making a space survival horror game called Callisto project. It's set on the moon of Jupiter (?) In 2300s, and is apparently connected to PUBG somehow? Coming 2022
EA shadow-dropped Medal of Honor VR (which apparently isn't great, performance-wise), and also did CGI trailer for Dragon Age and "Mass Effect Will Continue"
New trailers for Nier Replicant, Scarlet Nexus, Outriders, Amplitude's "Humankind". Amplitude is also doing a roguelike tactics dungeon-crawler called Endless Dungeon- Not to be confused with the roguelike Tower defense game, Dungeon of the Endless, lol.
Microsoft teased Perfect Dark as Initiative's new game. The devs talked about it, it's a 1st person spy game, where they're trying to put more emphasis on sneaking, gadgets etc, and less on traditional shooting.
Sony had some Returnal gameplay and a release date for March 19th. Gonna be a full-priced 70 USD game, so good luck to Housemarque.
Sony also had a few console exclusives for PS5 (all coming to PC). Various Indie games, either narrative-based, or exploration, in that faux-cell shaded artstyle. Some looked cool, and a few are from decently known devs, but no standouts. There were like 4 of them (Tchia, The Season, Road 96, and Open Roads)
Skyrim, Doom Eternal, and all the remaining Yakuza games are coming to GamePass. Yakuza games also hitting PC, so all 8 mainline games (from 0 to the latest 7, aka Like A Dragon) will all be on PC by end of March. Sega was also supposed to announce the Western port of the Persona 5 sequel, Persona 5 Strikers, coming to PS4, Switch and Steam in April- but that leaked. so Atlus revealed it earlier in the week. It's Warriors-type spin off made by Koei Tecmo, but it apparently continues the story of base game (not Royal), so there's that.
Some multiplayer titles, and existing GAAS updates, but I tuned out when they were talking about that stuff. Pearl Abyss, the developer of the MMO Black Desert Online showed gameplay for their new project, Crimson Desert, which is still an MMO, but more story-focused, since apparently everyone is playing the same named protagonist. previewers are saying combat seems to be taking cues from Dragon's Dogma, so I guess that's an interesting thing? still an MMO, so my interest is pretty low.

A week in review vid that I was jumping through said that Callisto game is attempting to make the scariest video game possible. Marketing hype, sure. But I would like to see how they attempt to execute and live up to the marquee taglines.

Callisto Project is a terrible title marketing wise. It's meaningless and forgettable.

Sure but does the title "pop"? Does it catch you eye? Is it iconic?
Might as well add a Rise of the shadow of the origin to the title.
