Alright, well, i just finished RG and the whole Redmask thing was very maddening at the end. Only because i'm still trying to understand if he was the legit Redmask from the story or just some guy who decided to adopt the persona so he could lead the awl to war. At my current position of knowledge, i'm heavily leaning toward the latter. If this is a Read on kind of thing, then drop it on me and i will most certainly keep reading on.

Read on and find out.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I can confirm that he was a letherii child adopted by the Awl. And he did have an argument with the Elders and went into the Awl wastes and found the KCCM. And he did die at the end.

Like you I didn't really like the Red Mask storyline. It seemed pretty useless and didn't go anywhere. But wait until you read DOD. Things will make more sense.

I just fnished RG too, and for some reason I didn't seem to care that he wasn't AWL. But as you have proablly already found out all questions get answered eventually, hopefully.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Eases the nerves a little bit without being annoyed with the whole thing. Looking forward to DOD more so.

Yah, finding out about Bluemask, Greenmask, Yellowmask, and the rest of the Rainbow Guard was really enlightening.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

That is slightly incorrect, as there is no purplemask. There are the evil and jealous twins Indigomask and Violetmask however. Don't rember which one of them killed Bluemask in the end, but I'm pretty sure it was the gay one (Violetmask?).

This would have been one of the most awesome storylines ever if it was true.

I was caught totally by surprise when Redmask turned out to be an undead Bloodmask Moranth in service to Hood's Mother.
Ok i'm making all that up, but if you poke around a bit about Redmask on the RG forum there are a few theories you might want to give some thought to.

Beyond that...RAFO!
