Right. I have returned and man is there a lot of faulty reasoning in this thread. I've picked out a few things that stood out, mainly from HP who continues to apply a pronounced lack of logic to his arguments.

I still hold you're the better target. However, we need a lynch and Eloth is a good alternative in my book.

edit: @HP

And I still hold that drunk posting is commonly associated with scum. Let's just agree to disagree. Eloth is a good lynch. Especially if Osseric and Barghast don't show up to help.

edit: Crosspost with Osseric's vote.

Funny how you keep saying this again and again as if it somehow will become true after long enough a time. Drunken posting has never been commonly associated with scum. If we're going to be technical about it I can pretty much guarantee that the wast majority of drunken posting has been done by innocent players. Why? Because there are more innocent players in a game than killers. Randomly drawing a scum role does not magically make you more prone to get drunk, or post afterward. I'd love to hear your arguments as to how drunken posting has become commonly associated with being scum, or why scum would be more likely to drunken post.

You obviously tried to make up an argument to get a day 1 lynch, getting all pissy because you have to defend the accusations you make is kind of funny.

View PostHood, on 05 May 2010 - 05:20 PM, said:

So... does that automatically make Barghast the next lynch? Because seriously, voting me, retracting, and then just disappearing as the votes swung to Eloth is about as scummy as it gets.

I've lost internet connections right as the vote has come to the wire but the random remove vote is just weird.

Now this. Setting up a lynch before the day has even started screams of scum. There was yet to be a cf of the lynch or the night kill, not to mention you had no idea what was going to happen the following day, yet already you've decided that Barghast must be lynched?

View PostHood, on 05 May 2010 - 05:22 PM, said:

If Eloth is a 'tater, I'm totally voting Barghast tomorrow if I'm not deep fried tonight.

Continuing to build up momentum for a Barghast lynch tomorrow.

View PostOsseric, on 05 May 2010 - 05:39 PM, said:

Well, the only 2 that weren't around at some point during the lynch were Korbas and D'riss. That might be a good place to start. Especially since Korbas was mentioned earlier as a possible master.

This also makes me cringe. Using argument's such as these are very unhelpful. It can easily make us focus in the wrong direction for no other reason than because we think someone might not have been online, or that they didn't chose to kill Barghast for other reasons.

....

Now, it's quite obvious that the three votes on me we're x-posts. Ergo, even though Eloth or Barghast technically could've been Korbas' symp, the vote they place cannot have been meant as a sign to Korbas seeing that at the time they posted they didn't know about Korbas' vote. With this I'm not making an assumption as to the allegiance of Korbas', however I would argue that it's quite obvious that the three votes were coincidental in relation to each other.

Yet, HP's reason for voting me were about as weak as they come and as such I find it very improbable that three innocents all decided that somehow it made sense. No, I think that one out of Korbas, Eloth, and Barghast are/was a symp and as such the signal they sent was for HP. If we are to describe any meaning at all to the triple x-vote then that is what makes the most sense. A second option which also holds merit is that Korbas is a killer and jumped on the first chance of a lynch he could find, but to my mind HP being a killer is the most logical option.

In addition I find Osseric quite suspicious in the way he relates to HP. I find it harder to put my finger on just what it is about his play that ticks me off however, so for now that's nothing more than a gut suspicion.

So, from the extended use of faulty logic and the quite bristling defensiveness that followed the demands to explain his reasoning makes HP my number one candidate for scum.

Vote HP

Also, killing Barghast made a lot of sense from the perspective of the killers even if they were party to the growing pre-day lynch mob. Why would a killer night kill Barghast if they knew he'd be a prime candidate for the following day's lynch? Because the action would spawn that very question.

I'm loving your logic Galain. You're the most reasonable voice in this game at the moment. I'll just keep an eye on D'riss for now and back you up voting for HP, I think the vote can definitely get some momentum

A really good point, however I don't think we should discount the possibility that the killer was offline and simply didn't have a chance to change who he was going to kill. Which means we should keep an eye on D'riss (and myself too, I suppose).

My greatest worry is that it's all a coincidence down even to HP's lack of reasoning and that the killers are to be found among Ampelas, Fener, Liosan, and Mockra. Mockra was number two of my list of suspects yesterday for instance but has been much less of a presence today.

In the end though, we need to make some choices and I'm quite comfortable with my vote on HP.

What I'd like to know is why you voted for me yesterday. It's not like you provided any sort of actual reasoning as far as I can remember.

Galain: ...drunkeness? I didn't like his fuckers post or whatever last night, but beyond that didn't have much reason for voting for him. Unfortunately I have class during the day so usually can only be on for lynches on the weekends. No real reason to suspect. Could have been faking being drunk.

Poor reasoning, I know.

Hey look, I'm being voted again. Didn't work yesterday, let's try again today, right?

You can't seem to give up the ghost on something, Galain. I was so focused on you clearly I must be scum? The argument was bad so I must be scum making a bad argument? Whatever dude, that's dead and done.

I agree that killing Barghast provides a great question mark, but I also think it clearly casts a bright light upon D'riss.

Right now, I have to see D'riss and Osseric as two highly suspicious fellows. I doubt they're both bad, but with only 9 players in the game, I wouldn't be shocked to see one of them is a meaty fellow.

Getting late here, so I'll probably be on in the morning. If you for some reason lynch me overnight, which I doubt will happen, you can probably assume Korbas is going to die because he becomes the most inno person here for reason I've already stated.

And I pre-emptively laugh at you for trying to say that I'm signalling someone to kill Korbas. I'm simply stating a fact. Go read the argument.

So we started with 11 players. I'm guessing that 3 are scum (beef, chicken, fish) that would leave 8 innocents in the game. If we just lost 2 innos then the ratio is down to 6:3 or 2:1 innocents to scum. Those are not good numbers. If we completely miss out on lynches I say we only have about 2-3 days tops to throw the meat on the barbee.

Back to what I mentioned earlier. The NK of Barghast has really thrown me. I was all ready to go after HP, Barghast and possibly Korbas but know I've been mind fucked and don't know what the NK of Barghast really means.

Galain can you please explain your suspicions of Mockra more? What exactly did he say that put him high on your suspicion list? He stood out to me a bit but not in a scummy way.

Galain, you raise some good points. If the kill on barghast is a an attempt to frame D'riss/Korbas, then HP does look very suspicious. Going on about wanting to lynch Bargy before he comes up as dead, would fit right into the ploy too.

Given Korbas's random posting and lack of defense, plus HP's initial, faulty claim of Korbas being PI and his continued semi-defense of him, I'm pretty happy with my vote.

Wow HP
Not only is your case on myself Meta (bad form), but its also got a huge wallop of WIFOM to boot....and....well... nothing else.
Yet you seem quite sure?
Im thinking to myself...should an inno really be making cases on someone and push lynches based solely on those types of arguments?
I would not. So how are you not questioning yourself HP?
A Wifom/meta case?...well done sir.

Now...Even if you are inno and feel vilified in your stance and you feel a killer was not online etc. etc. You then completely exonerate Korbas?
With seriously shitty reasoning, youve given him the "A OK"?... Just like that?... Not a second glance?
But nooo, D'riss must be looked at HARD.
D'riss...the person who tried to get you lynched yesterday....how convenient.
So now its not only Wifom and meta, its also OMGUS...bloody well done, a trifecta :bs:

Never mind that you completely ignore the fact that the lynch was VERY rushed and there is a good chance the killers were not quick enough to even consider sending in an amended PM to PS?
My guess is that this is a 'two killer share a kill' game and that means the killers would have both had to have come to the same conclusion (first discuss it) and then both send in a PM.
Was there enough time?...did they even think about it?
I highly doubt it.
The real heat was only really applied on barghast right after the lynch anyways.
Plus you completely overlook the fact that a few people that where indeed online at the time, didnt even seem to have read the thread and just asked you guys who to vote for *cough* Mockra & fener *cough* because time was so short and they had "RL issues"!!.
Mockra and Fener both admitted they got caught up in RL and Mockra even asked who to vote for!....but lets completely ignore THAT!

HP...im quite convinced however that you are not a killer.
I think that if you are scum...then you are playing classic symp play. And if you are inno you are jumping at shadows and not really thinking things through enough.
Then there is your continuous talk of your own CF coming up inno which stinks to me of someone that really wants to drill that point home. But why?...to what ends?
You are VERY aware of your CF being inno and you REALY want people to pay attention to that fact once you become worm food.
And I dont see why any inno would care to point that out as much as you have.

This post is such a classic!!! especially the underlined part...hahaha

I once got lynched in a game as a townie and the ENTIRE rest of the game had people trying to debate whether or not I was a member of the town or the scum. The scum theory was so prevalent, the real scum got away with it and won.

I was merely trying to stave that kind of nonsense off, but as usual, my comments get put under an electron microscope.

For the record, I was fully prepared to vote myself off to avoid a stalled lynch if that came to pass.

And the academy goes to...

Anyways....
So, with all this in mind.
Im thinking one or even two of Mockra and fener are the possible killers.
Fener has been very below radar while mockra has been ringin bells for me all game.
The Oh so sharp HP who doesnt miss the slightest thing...completely ignores these two.

And ill throw Korbas in there because you "PI'd" the fucking guy....I mean REALLY?
I am not sure what to make of that as i highly doubt a symp would PI his master.
But then again HP went through great pains to make us very aware of what his CF will be.

Another one is Osseric

View PostOsseric, on 05 May 2010 - 05:34 PM, said:

lol... thanks Killers...

Why in the Hell would they Kill Barghast?

That leads me to believe that he was a predestined kill and that 1 or both of the Killers weren't around at Lynch time.

this makes me think he was well aware that he could not get his kill changed, perhaps a partner was not online.
Perhaps he simply thought about it too late.
But he WAS thinking about it.
It happens allot that a killer will say exaclty what happned behind the scenes as a ploy to look helpfull/innocent and maybe twist it suite his needs.
In this case, make the people who where not online look guilty.

So there it is ...ive caught up

I think we can find the scum in Fener, mockra, Osseric...and perhaps Korbas.
With HP as a possible symp.

IF i had to pick one....i would probably have to go for Mockra.

I dont think the kill on barghy was meant to frame anyone.
I think the kill on barghy was put on long before the lynch, the killers would have made up their minds a while back knowing that there is 0 hour nights.

With the amount of time that was left between people starting to question bargy and the lynch i doint think they could coordinate a NK change in time even if they where online.
It all happened rather fast. With there being 3 minutes to go and still no lynch i think everyones mind was more occupied by the fact that people needed to come on and lynch.
