Didn't Raest tell Paran that they(Rallick and Vorcan) were Paran's to command? I think he at least intimated as much when Paran ended up in the Finnest house the first time.
I wonder what furhter changes will be wrought in Rallick by the otataral...

What about those two dogs that survived the chain of dogs and were healed by Mappo? Anyone thinks Erikson has a role left for them?

I can't remember if SE said that Torvald Nom isn't in this one, but I'd like to see him again. Mind you, I also want to see Rallick Nom back, and with him will be Vorcan, and probably Raest as well; but they'll probaly be in Toll the Hounds, or whatever it's called.
Oh, and more from (Lady? Refreshing soft drink?) Spite, too.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

And anyway, weren't the Grey Swords heading back to Elingarth? I doubt we'll see them before Toll the Hounds.

@Morgoth,
As I recall Karsa headed off into the sunset of the Jhag Odhan at the end of HoC (the Jahg Odhan is apparently a huge area of which I'd like to see a map - there were apparently some towns (Trell?) on the eastern side). Maybe there is passage to Genabackis there for Karsa, but I hope he has another meeting with Icarium or Mappo before he returns to Genabackis. Anyway, as has been said, its possible that we'll see Karsa in BH.

I could utterly wrong about this, but didn't Patch or SE drop a hint that a new character appears travelling with Karsa - confirming our favourite toblakai's presence?
Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't it Tayschren arriving at 7C at the end of HoC, not Dujek?
As for moi, I'm truly interested in seeing the Heboric/Felisin/Scillara/Cutter/Greyfrog crew, but really, SE could write about three squirrels and a lawn gnome and i would read it.
- Abyss, wonders if there's a market for stories about three squirrels and a lawn gnome.

I'd have thought Dujek and Tayschrenn were near-certainties.
You missed Quick Ben!
Off the top of my head: Fiddler's squad, Corrabb Bin Thenualas, Mathok, and T'amber. The new Fist, Grub's dad (argh, I forgot a name).
On the maybe/maybe-not list: Udinaas, Fear Sengar, Seren Pedac, Silchas Ruin.
(btw:
"That woman whom Heboric healed" - Scillara
"Shadowthrones child army and its matriarch" - Matriarch is Minala
"Apt's child" - Was his name Panek?)

Right, edited your suggestions into the list, gave the ones I did not have at all italics

...then Togg and Fanderay offer him the position of Knight of the Hold of Beasts, I think. And start to loosen the bonds keeping the 'mini'dragon-possessed 10 foot tall killing machine attached to the riverbed. So he should be free by now...

the toblakai Kalam drives his daggers into in the fortress where he meets the ashok regiment, the blood is drunk by an enkar'al and they trade souls

@Murrin, yup SE said that here
"The principal points of view in BH, thus far, have been various soldiers (Bottle, Fiddler, Kalam, Keneb, Lostara, etc), and Cutter and Scillara (no she doesn't have red hair and no I don't have a thing for red hair, but I know tempers when I see 'em, but anyway, Scillara's been fun to write); who else? Mappo, and a few others none of whom you've met (yet), including one travelling with Karsa Orlong."

Free by now....Mmm. I wonder about the nature of the wolf gods' urgent need for a champion. One might assume the need is in seven cities specifically, but what is their connection to seven cities? Have we any reference to them ever having been there? Is it possibly related to Logros' reason for holding his army there?
So many questions...

I think that could definately be an option, seeing as though the two hounds are definatley dead now...

"...if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss eats your brains and absorbs your knowledge." - Col. Sanders, 1983.
On topic, the Nom family seems to be a running thread thru the books. Even if Torvald and Rallick drop off the radar, there are probably a few others shuffling around to be met.
- Abyss, ferociously accurate quoter.

Just reread that bit...
We have a toblakai body, which somehow stays viable in spite of being possessed by a powerful demon and imprisoned for a few thousand years (pre-Nameless Ones, as Kalam put it). Stick in said body the soul of a draconic beast, and motivate it with its only hope of ever seeing it's own kind or its own body again.
Nasty.
Wonder if it's being sent after the d'ivers Spite and co. released in the prologue.
- Abyss wonders if the pureblood dragons are sort of embarrased by the whole enkaral/wyval thing...

quote:^ Torvald will likely be in Book 7 as its a return to Genebackis.
I thought Toll the Hounds was the return to Genebackis. Reaper's Gale, is yet to ge given a location...or well the location is yet to be made general knowledge
