New guy here although I have been lurking for some time. I read GotM a little over a year okay and thought it was just ok, read through DG and hated it. Then I read ASoIaF series, could not find another well detailed series that I could get into so I started MTotF again and the re-read has been much better. I am 200 pages in on DG.

i've read through the first 5 books and now am re-reading from the beginning again. there is so much detail that i miss alot on the first read. i'm enjoying the world, characters, and events but boy am i confused. this series is analagous to the lost tv show. for every question answered, three more are introduced. suffice it to say i will have many questions on these forums haha!

anyway keep at it. the books become more rewarding as you go.

Welcome to the forums both of you! the fun starts here really.

Re-reads are always good (there are some that re-read the whole series seven times already,
don't worry their the really special ones )

As far as the story goes yes, more questions arise than answers in the first half of the series
don't worry though the answers slowly start to roll in around book 7.
Your best reads would likely be Memory of Ice (MoI) and the latest two books
Toll the hounds (TtH) and the Finale duo.

No real easy answers but a great deal more depth and activity. enjoy it all
and just search the threads for whatever you don't get first hand.
