Malazan Empire: Bridgeburners - Malazan Empire

I was wondering about them. We know that in the song of a Tanno Spiritwalker lies a path to ascendancy which is proven with the ascendency of the dead Bridgeburners.

What will happen to those still alive? Will they ascend too? Is it just the song that made the Bridgeburners ascend or has their history in Raraku something to do with it, or does Paran's blessing as master of the deck or even the magic of the Tiste Andii have something to do with this ascendancy. The latter two only affect the dead Bridgeburners. At the same time it states that in the song of the Tanno Spiritwalker lies a path to ascendancy, not a song in combination with something. Besides in the end of HoC Fiddler still feels the song in his soul "Strangely warm, almost comforting". That indicates that he is also tied to the song and therefor it is logical to assume the same for Kalam, Quick Ben and the others in Darujhistan. Besides when he meets up with Kalam and Quick Ben he mentions that they are bound, bound even beyond death.

Also we know that Paran as master of the deck has several guards. Herboric revealed as much and those guards are probably the Bridgeburners. Which Bridgeburners then? All of them or just the ones still alive and with Paran in Darujhistan, or the dead ones, or all of them?
