Hey, folks. Something's been bothering me. Do we ever find out why Hood came for Brukhalian's soul personally toward the end of MoI? I'm only on Reaper's now so hopefully my answer come's later. It just seemed a bit random especially since Baudin showed up as his new Knight of Death in the same book. So, any ideas?

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Short answer: because he is awesome.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Bit longer answer: Hood will from time to time come down himself to witness a death and collect the soul because of the importance of the soul or the significance of the persons death. Brukhalians death was very noble but Hood also picked him for a reason, why wont become clear before later on. Things are brewing in the pantheon and below.

Saying any more would be a spoiler.

Could you PM me what the hell this is? I've read every book (apart from Crack'd Pot Trail) and don't remember anything about this.

Thanks!

Hehe.

I started reading Malazan in the fall of 2007 and it's been slow going since I had to use some of my time with a pesky MA. Some details get lost along the way I'm afraid. Going to do a reread soon, but I've got Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions and Pratchett's Nation on the way from Amazon so I'll plow to through those and all of Karl Pilkington's three books first.

yeah, me neither, can someone spoil me?

Don't read this if you haven't read past MOI yet. Or even if you have but have books left, allow it to be a surprise.

Spoiler

Cool, cool, there I go just letting which book it's in be a surprise but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
