The clip is hysterical, particularly the guy bicycle kicking multiple piranha.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

What is it with SyFy these days?

That was hilarious.

Are you sure that wasn't some sort of comedy skit?

Please, let that be the answer. The alternative is too woeful to contemplate. :D

Mega Piranha might be the best "you've-got-to-see-this, it's-so-bad-it's-hilariously-awesome" movie that I've ever seen. My wife and I had been wondering for some time if Scy Fy was intentionally making the worst possible original movies and this one was the proof! (So sad, in a way; this is the same network that once brought us Farscape, which I absolutely loved.) My kids laughed their asses off as well as their parents! And it's got 80's pop "star" Tiffany plus Greg Brady?! Must see! We still check what's on Scy Fy every weekend just to see if anything can come close to this one! Not really, so far.

Yes it is quite something. I saw a program not too long ago, possibly about the ScyFy network in advance of Defiance, but some of the people that work on these original movies actually admitted that the more outlandish and over the top they made some of these "creatures" (Mega Shark, Sharktopus, Mega Dinosaur, Super Gator) the more buzz they generated. So making horrible movies seems to have paid off to some extent. I'm not sure if you can find it in the UK but we found it at a Kmart for $5. I know it can be found on Amazon also. ScyFy must have gotten good results from Mega Pirahna because soon after, they came out with Mega Python vs Gatoroid. Not only does Tiffany "star" in this one as well, as a sheriff or deputy in a swamp area in Florida, but they bring in Debbie Gibson (Tiffany's main "rival" during their pop star days) also! I won't spoil it for anyone but let's just say their characters don't like each other. Not as good/bad as Mega Piranha, but worth a look and laugh!
