1 set of cocoons is just outside the city gate that's across from the harbour-between the gate and the lake, but closer to the city walls.

The second one is deeper in the forest. Leave the outskirts village and go deeper into the forest (past the pathway to the cemetery). The cocoons are a bit west of the idol statue.

Letho is tough. I can't beat him.

Dodging rolling is key.

I think Aard to stun him works, too.

Or, you know, spam Quen and keep hitting him.

And I want to state that Ment has out-weaseled me by far in this game.

I don't even understand Quen. I see/sense no difference in protection using it.

My best match with him so far had me getting his down a 3rd of the way. Oh boy. Gonna be a long slog till I get this one I think.

Quen only helps you tank one hit. Then you have to put it up again. While it's very useful for the majority of the game, I found Quen wasn't that useful in that fight, because I was always waiting for vigor to recharge. So my strategy was Aard him, attack once or twice (heavy attacks I think), repeat ad nauseum. And dodge around when you're waiting for vigor to recharge (vigor doesn't recharge when you have Quen up if I remember correctly). Also try to aard him before/while he's putting up his own Quen shield. If he manages to put it up, Yrden helps take it down. Watch out for his Aard and Igni and bombs, I wouldn't suggest attacking at all unless you stagger him, and just focus on dodging for the majority of the fight.

Oh and you don't actually have to get his health all the way down. I think the fight finishes at something like 1/3rd of the bar.

It is broken in this game. You have to reload a lot.

Don't listen to these fools, dice texas hold'em is the best minigame ever. Especially the achievement for rolling 5-of-a-kind, that one is a real ball of joy and delight.

I love the fist fights but the wrestling and this dice game that I have no fucking clue what is what both suck.

Dice game is like 5-card stud poker.

You roll the dice once, get a combo of 5 numbers from 1 to 6. Your goal is to make a "hand". The " hands" are (from highest to lowest)

5 of a kind
4 of a kind
Full house- a triple and a pair
A straight- 1 to 5, or 2 to 6
A triple
2 pairs
One pair
High die (usually a 6).

After your initial roll, you can place a bet, and then you can "re-roll" as many dice as you choose, in order to (possibly) make your "hand" better.

Are enhancement items one and done or reusable? I haven't used any.

Why am I starting out with "epic" armor in ch 1?

The blue stripes' armour was a DLC add-on.

Yes, enhancements are just placed into the slot (diff items have diff number of slots), and they can't be removed once used.

Repeated for your convenience.

Dice poker was a carry-over from TW1. And I'm guessing the devs over-estimated how popular 5-card stud version of poker is in the west, so they didn't bother explaining anything.
