Brain fart here but where did he get this stuff again? I'm at work and I went to bed last night at the part where he and Draconus meet and since I left the book at home (dumbass) I can't look it up.

Just wondering and wasting time.

Old Hunch Arbanat's ghost made Harlest Eberict lead Ublala to the grave containing them.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

correct me if I am wrong but werent they buried by the barrow where the tarthenal gods emerged from the Azath?
Draconus recognized them immediately. So obviously, not just your run of the mill weapons.

On a side note, I am having a hard time not liking Draconus. It seems like he is set up to be a villain of sorts, but I like the guy.
I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter at the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain...."

No, I think it's the barrow where all the Tarthenal in Lether got buried(racists even after death, these Lletherii) and where Ublala killed Arbat so that he could lead the Tarthenal spirits in Karsa's aid.

Just out of curiousity, what gave you that impression. I got the complete opposite impression, more like he's being set up to be a "tragic" hero.

Draconus is the "Bad guy out to redeem himself".

He seems to be the wild card in the coming convergence. He does not side with any one... yet. He's not a good guy or a bad guy.

I think anyone fears that he'll simply FUBAR everything.

I quite enjoyed the part where he broke the crazy ladies neck.

There are no descriptions of Draconus are there?

I imagine a big guy with a Dark beard but that's about it. Personally, I love his conversational style.

I also am intrigued by the little snippet of conversation between  Mael and Kilamandros (sp?) where Mael suggests that Draconus is the inconceivable genius behind the entire series of the past events of millenia. He compares him to Tehol and someone else who is dead (wonder who that refers to?)

Then again Mael has never met Kruppe has he?

I can't remember that part now, so I'll have to look up where it is, but I think he's probably talking about Rake.
