What a time!

Everyone I've met have been truly awesome people. It's hard to pinpoint when things started going messy... the jager maybe? Taking swigs of that foul Norwegian liquor is not being repeated although props to stone monkey for chugging a good inch of the bottle. I'm trying to remember key points of the night but it's all a drunken haze. Macros did have a lovely stint in the pond with Bill, very romantic and all that. I'm sure more will come back to me once I've seen the pictures (and there are a LOT of those). Kudos to Fid and Mrs Paleman for doing a great job cooking!

I also want to add that Hazel and Bill are the very best of hosts. Morgy and I showed up on Friday afternoon and it's been a complete blast ever since. I'm quite sad to be leaving for London tomorrow truth be told. I've also decided that no matter what the cost these BBQs are an absolute must attend event.

And now I must go drink some more beer and mingle before everyone goes home.
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.

I would just like to point out that having a bunch of drunken gits in your house is great fun, but leaving your account open is a bit.... er irresponsible :)

Anomander, you going to come to the Chicago get together then? :)

For all you brits/europas, Chicago is the major international hub in the US. Easy to get to.....

I have a few things to say....

Mrs Paleman and Fid - thank you so much for being epic with the cooking duties.. You two were awesome.. and I mean that sincerely.
Thank you to everyone who turned out - We had a blast with you all.

High points - So many I don't know where to start.. Stone Monkey just chugging the evil filthy foul and totally disgusting Norwiegian (or however you spell it) stuff was pretty epic to be honest. Admittedly he passed out for a while, but he spring-boarded back like a trooper when Mrs Stone Monkey called him to task :)

Macros pleading with me to persuade Mal not to kill him, after he threw Mal in the pond (and followed closely afterwards)

Mezla's face this morning was worthy of a thread all on it's own - I never knew it was possible to be that colour and still have a heart-beat.

Pathos -dude - I will not say any more about you - but christ man... that was our bed! wtf?

Driving Macros back to the station this morning with him leaning out the window and shouting obscenities at Cougar in his pride and joy behind us, at every traffic light - I never counted those lights before, but now I know there are a LOT of traffic lights between here and the station.

Got lots of other stuff to say, not the least what happened when Illy left. Illy - you still alive man?

So many questions, far too afraid to ask...

Sounds like it was a good one!

still feel like death. I was so sick on the train. I had a blast though, brilliant to meet more of the forum. Ano and his sister are lovely and Pathos is a top chap even if he does snore like a bastard. Now i might try to get out of bed and eat something.

Oh crap, I knew there was something I had to warn you guys about. Pathos snoring can drown out vuvuzelas and small aircraft.

Probably one of the funniest moments was missed by most everyone as it happened when Illy was leaving. Let's just say his ride introduced herself as the "geek fucker" and was ushered outside of the house rather quickly by a flustered chicken.
And so the First denied their Mother,
in their fury, and so were cast out,
doomed children of Mother Dark.

Snigger.

So now I have made it out of bed and am able to form semi coherent thoughts, I had a brilliant day, I haven't laughed so much in ages. I'll never work out how we managed to get so many cracking people on one forum. Sorry I wasn't fit for a proper goodbye to everyone this morning although I think you understand since I did look almost as bad as I felt. Thanks as usual to Bill and Hazel, you guys are so generous to us every year. It was really good to see everyone from last year again (and you only mercilessly took the piss over how leathered I was for the first few hours :)) and kudos to all the people who come from overseas, it really makes it a great event. I just found a huge purple bruise on my hip, I think it is from where I got my arse wedged between the sofa and the coffee table (I'm so glad Pathos doesn't remember that!).

Thanks for a great BBQ everyone! Mal and Hetan were great hosts as always (as long as we didn't mention the pond incident :)), and it was nice to meet a few members I haven't met before (SM, Anomander, Pathos). Awesome guys all.

And I must especially thank Mal for giving me a copy of Revolvo. Enjoying what I've read so far! Apparently PS Publishing is having a sale, which makes those usually prohibitively expensive novellas more affordable.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Now I've recovered a bit, I'd like to thank everyone involved.
Especial thanks to Bill and Hazel for hosting me, and putting up with ny incomprehensible gibberish.
I'll have a few photos to post later when I'm back at my own laptop.

highlights in my terrible memory so far -

pressuring mezla mercilessly until she drank the Jager
being able to blame it all on Hazel for producing the Jager
Toast in a Can
"Avoid the downstairs bathroom" text nessage
Being awoken by mezla stumbling down the stairs an standing on me
Toby's insistence that I put U2 on.
Being absolutely shocked by how strong the swede was, maybe hes not such a failure as a scandanavian after all.
Discovering that we had four and a half thousands worth of Guiness shaped calories in our stomach.
Being informed by many sources that my typing on msn/aim/etc is as incomprehensible as my spoken words.
shuttling angrily between the garage and patio people clusters calling them all fuckers for some god awful joke or another.

I'm sure more will turn up

I'm alive, don't worry. The BBQ was fun as fuck, I've got to say.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
