Why does apsalar's father, Rellock, know his name yet Sorry/Apsalar does not know her own?

uh... i guess she doesn't remember and rellock doesn't care to tell her cuz really, how would that help? she isn't that girl anymore. you can't go back.

Rellock was just kidnapped and enslaved (more or less). Sorry/Apsalar was possessed by Cotillion for years while the wax witch's soul tried to help her at the same time, plus whatever mallet did to reduce the damage. Hence, her thinkymeatz were WAY more messed up than his.

I know Apsalar can remember very little of the past. But, why wouldn't Rellock inform her of her original name? Considering being named after the God of Thieves is a bit rough. Not trolling, just wondering. Just finished Dead house, and picked up MoI last night. Really looking forward to it.

I'm drawing a blank here but don't we actually find out Apsalar's name at some point in DG?
Otherwise, maybe he was trying not to mess her up even more.

i don't think we ever actually find out apsalars real name. rellock talks about her, how she's not his little girl anymore or something like that, so i'll reaffirm my conviction that rellock felt that telling apsalar her real name would be pointless and painful.

Has anyone considered that perhaps Sorry/Apsalar's father did share her original name with her, and that she simply chooses to go by "Apsalar"?
