Picked up Gardens of the Moon when I saw the new Tor trade paperback at my local bookstore. Been holding off getting Deadhouse Gates, has there been any announcement or word if Tor is going to release new trades with cover art similiar to GotM and DoD? Thanks!

As far as I recall they opted to keep the artwork for Dust of Dreams and House of Chains and just change the layout.
That is, the artwork that looks like this:

Personally I think those covers are particularly awesome, so I'm happy they didn't change them.

Is there a release date for these? I'd like my books to all match and know they are going to be coming out before I go ahead and start investing in this size and layout.
I'm tempted to pick up Dust of Dreams now while its still available and matching my Gardens of the Moon.

They are already released.
I'm guessing if the market is still full of books with the old version of the covers, then you wont be seeing them in your area.
But new editions will have it.

Really? I haven't seen these in paperback at any of the several bookstores that I have visited. Only Gardens of the Moon and DoD.
Doing a search on Amazon for Deadhouse Gates and looking for the paperback edition and there doesn't seem to be anybody selling any new copies. Hence my assumption that they were out of print and since Gardens had been most recently reprinted this way, I was expecting Deadhouse Gates to be next.
There are 2 used copies on Amazon though. One selling for 9.00 and one for 64.69. Yikes

Silly Amazon. I did a search for the ISBN instead of the words "deadhouse gates" and I found the listing.
But I want my covers to match. I guess I'll just keep waiting for it to show up in a store I visit.

If anybody changed the cover for Deadhouse there would be a lot of very upset people.
My advice is that you need to read Deadhouse Gates now. Buy an el-cheapo MMPB, and wait and see how things develop as regards obtaining a nicer edition for the collection.

There's three main lines of cover-art in the english versions:
The original Bantams - the original covers for the UK versions. Bantam is the UK publisher, so this is the books you'd see in UK, Canada, Australia and most other countries outside the US a few years ago and earlier. Also the first version released for all the novels up to Bonehunters.
The Tors - Tor is the US publisher, so these are the versions that would come out in the US several months after the Bantams released elsewhere. Completely different artwork (except DG), and these are still being done. DoD hasn't been published by Tor yet, so we don't know what the cover-art of it will be.
The new Bantams - In about 2005 Bantam started re-publishing the novels with new covers. These are the ones with the helmet and iron bars thing going on. By the time RG came out they were up-to-date with this new version, so RG and onwards do not have original Bantam versions.
If you're in the US, generally getting a Bantam means importing or searching hard. Likewise, in the UK/Canada/Australia it's hard to get a Tor.
I'll list the existing covers below so you can see. There's some differences between hardcover, trade paperback and mass-market versions but it's usually pretty minimal (different fonts mostly). Some first printings do have different covers (ie the Tor first-print of tBHs is Paran on a horse, not the TTG carriage). And of course there's plenty of translated versions, advance copies and other stuff with other covers, too!
What I suspec the OP is referring to is that it seems that Tor has re-published GotM with the new Bantam cover. I haven't heard any news of them re-publishing the rest of the series, but it might be possible.

Indeed. I would wager that the new Tor edition of GotM is merely a 10th anniversary tribute, and that Tor has no plans to rerelease the rest of the series with the new cover format.
Which makes me wonder how the series is doing, financially, in the US. Was the DoD cover copied from the Bantam edition because US profits can't justify commissioning new artwork? Or was it an attempt to start being consistent (starting with the GotM 10th anniversary edition) across all English (Tor and Bantam) editions?

May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Could be any of the above I suppose.

Apart from the Gruntle Cover, the US versions are very poor.

I still love Stephen Youll's Tor GotM cover; sure, it doesn't fit the book or series at all, but it's still a gorgeous painting. The only Bantam cover I prefer to the Tor version is HoC, though I do like both. And IMO, neither series got a decent TtH or BH cover -- and that includes all 4 different BH covers (2 for each publisher.)

I bought all 9 books at once, all with the new Bantam cover. Pity though that they all came as pocket books except for DoD.

Why does the TOR Bonehunters cover have a picture of what could be Santa in a horrible accident? Because if I recall correctly, the Bonehunters has nothing to do with Santa, or his elves...

That's (BH super-minor spoilers)
Spoiler
It's definitely a very literal scene from the book, and I've heard it was even at SE's request, though it perhaps didn't turn out as anticipated. Tor eventually swapped front and back covers for the MMPB release, which features Paran on a horse.
