I actually had a good time... but inno's made it way too easy. It's like they wanted to hoard all the info to themselves.. when in actuality the more that was out there.. the more scum can be caught in a lie. In fact, my/Shin's targets were based on who was talking... thats why we took out Silchas. He wanted to share info early which would have been devastating for us. Yeah, I have never been lynched in a Mafai game, so combined with Shin, we were probably the perfect symps in that aspect. Glad Bent picked up on me. I was laying it on pretty thick ;) I get all worked up in these games, thanks to Shin for keeping me grounded. It's fun to read spoilers and see how much goes on behind the scenes that you just never consider. Anyway, good game Bent annd Shin. Love winning as a bad guy >:0

I can't believe you were guarded and no kill happened and you didn't get more heat... that blew my mind more than anything.

Happy B-day dead hedge. I had no idea you were the noob. (Thought it was GK, lol, hence my coaching, well that and I thought he was symping me to death, lol) anyway, great game by you, hope you join us again. I really want to say that Shin was a fantastic symp. The dude wasn't around enough to give me a signal I could grab onto, but end game, he not being around really helped hand us the win. Great job both of you.

I think you had it backwards ;) I was Kalse

I did. My bad. And when I logged in and saw I had been guarded, I was - OH SHIT I'M DEAD - I took the only out I had, a Bargy slip, and ran with it. I still havent figured out why you guys didn't kill the night I was guarded though...Anyway, great game Dude.

We didn't kill anyone because we were trying to make it look like one of the assistants was dead. That bit of Convo didn't make it to SH, but me and Shin, withheld one night and used our cards to make it seem like they had hit the assistant. The fact that you got guarded was unlucky, but the fact that it was that night we withheld worked out, and gave you the wiggle room you needed :) Masterful job of keeping them off you just long enough ;)

Yep, you said I might have not submitted my action, and never mentioned that I had been guarded, I used that to say that you were a symp, connected you to Serc (because you said you thought he was inno for no apparent reason, and he guarded HP, which completed the scum circle...if you had just said I was guarded and Driss guarded me, I wouldn't have been able to squirm my way out.

Congrats on makin it to the end on your first game, DeadHedge! That doesn't happen very often on these boards Posted Image

And I was going to change my card list for the 2nd last night and onwads, but didn't get a chance to get online before the cards were dealt though... oh well.

Good work scum people, hope that knife wasn't infected!

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I had two chances to take you out Bent, and I squandered them. First when I guarded you I barely pushed you at all, and I was so very close to vigging you. I could have given us a real good chance, but my indecision fucked me up.

Great game scum, we never stood a chance. ;)

Well, I enjoyed the experience of running my first game. Didn't quite pan out like I was expecting, but when does it ever do? What I was hoping for was a scenario where innos were more willing to come forward and play aggressively. The idea was that with all the information available to them, they should have been able to force the scum to dance around and spin some interesting stories. We got a little bit of that, (Kudos to Bent!) but not as much as I was expecting.

However, I had expected the effects on scum strategy - they didn't have to look for roles, so instead they could feel free to go after personalities. They did a good job there. Too good a job for the innos, as it turns out. I would have hoped for a closer finish, but despite a wobble in the middle, the scum waltzed to victory on the back of some low participation from the innos.

Anyway, hopefully the card system meant that everyone had a good time (in these mindfuck games, it seems like the RIs get screwed over more often than not due to lack of information - none of that here). I'd welcome any feedback on how you feel the setup could be improved.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Just a personal feeling after modding was that I think, all in all, we probably overestimated the usefulness of several cards. Lover seemed like it could have been very strong for the scum if the master grabbed it and an apprentice did so as well, but it just felt weak and awkward all game. Instead of relying on the card to get the message to bent, the apprentices used good old fashioned symping to make him aware (he got 1/2), and they spent all game trying to horde the 'prize' cards.

Other cards were not that well prized. Apprentices could easily avoid King and the other 'bad' cards for them, because nobody else forced them to be taken.

Place Swap looked unwieldy for the town, but it would have been a fantastic card if the scum could organize around it. If you and the master take Lover day 1 to reveal yourselves, then you place swap right behind him on night 2 (forging a turn), you could basically get the 2 best cards every single day by having the master keep taking the King or Consort over and over.

Participation was the main problem here, but it had some good moments.

I think the innos were going with traditional thinking on the game, like if your the healer you don't reveal as healer, same with guard or finder unless you have info that can win the game.

The only real piece of evidence I had that bent was scum apart from a mild suspicion was that he said he had role finder when I had it, by the time I read that I was dead due to the lynch. I should have used the vig on bent first day as I thought he was a tad nervous with kaschan (whoever he is) voting him putting him up to two votes.
