Im thinking Telas, shadow or Alkend for some reasons that are quite simply not logical in the slightest.
just the run of early posts these 3 caught my eye.

throwing out a vote telas for now, but i'll be back on way before end of days

I actually enjoyed Tulas' little flip out. I was entertained. :)

I'm casting a suspicious eye on the people who appear to be trying to make the game more mysterious than it is. Yes, there's a hidden game mechanic, but I thought the setup was pretty clear from the get go.

We're trapped, and that trap was meant to make us vote each other into the abyss. However, Hood managed to lock the trap on UB as well, so we also have the possibility of voting him into the abyss. Anything else is just wanton (and by 1 person, perhaps deliberatley confusing) speculation.

Vote D'riss

As the one who has been coming up with goofy ideas since the start (things like "maybe silenced players become UB's symps")

Ok, finished catching up, and I have to say, Im not sure why me voting Shadow was such a big deal. Seems to me like UB will want to lay low, at least until he gets more people silenced. Thats not to say he wont be a high poster, but 2 posts by Shadow (each of which contributed zero to the conversation or made a statement for that matter).

Anyway, Something else has sparked my interest.

Ok Wtf has happened with Tulas exploding. Im inclined to think he is innocent but i still want to get rid of him because hes annoying.
Vote Tulas
because even if he is innocent now, his prescence wont help matters any so its in towns best interest to remove him now, regardless of how weak the original case on him was

This post strikes me as extremely scummy. Not only was this apparently the hammer, but Galain also posted this and promptly left. He says that he feels Tulas is inno, but its in towns best interest to remove him. These arent things a typical inno says IMO. Also Eloth did the EXACT same thing.

Drop a vote (which wasn't the hammer, but for all intents and purposes mightas well have been) and disappear. So for now I will

Vote Eloth

I believe you hopped on and dropped your vote, hoping to at least appear helpful, and then scamper back to your hole.
Here is Eloth's post, for those who want quotes.

Ok.

Vote Tulas Shorn

Because even if he's not UB he's not helping anything at all.

I'm thinking that it is possible that this is the hidden mechanic however, some form of forcing a player to behave in a certain way. Can't tell at the moment, but if it crops up again, certainly worth thinking about.

Edit added hopped on to my senence, didn't make sense otherwise.

Sorry, should have refreshed first. Tennes, you may be on to something, see above.

Eloth was the first to point out that Tulas' rambling might be the hidden mechanic.

Yeah, I'm sorta here. Working on something simultaneously, so I'll be distracted.

I don't know about your case there Telas. Lots of people use that "he's not helping and will only be a distraction" reason as voting. There is some validity to that sort of reasoning. However, it is also an incredibly lazy way to drop a vote without having to actually think about anything. So I wouldn't brand Eloth and Galain as UB, but I would brand them as lazy day 1 sheep using a convenient argument.

Maybe an element of Malazan mafia that should be discouraged, along the lines of "dont vote night".

Sil, I thought Tulas was pretty funny too, but he was fucking up the game, albeit in an entertaining way.

What's wrong with comping up with ideas? Are you gonna play the entire game without thinking yourself? The reason I thought that it's possible that the silenced players become symps is because Bubba said it was 17 against 1, or some such, and therefore there must be happening something to make symps - unless he has skipped that part altogether in this game.

....UB has one power (to silence a player every twenty four hours) that is it. no FM, No Lp's...nothing.....the hidden Mec has nothing to do with him. it has to do with all of you.

the last I will say on it. Posted Image

Oh come on, you know you want to tell us more. Posted Image

Highly confusing, this entire situation. Maybe the person we vote for doesn't actually die, but gets out of the cell? But I'm sure that can't happen all the time, okay my head is hurting now...

Sure, coming up with ideas is fine, but you seem to be pulling random ideas out of your bum like the above example.

And unnecessary (and untrue) attacks like this

Thats all fine and good Tennes, but when 10 players have posts under the amount that Bubba has, thats just silly. Galain has 3 and so does Eloth.

Low posters is where I am looking, for the reasons I have already stated.

What about you D'riss, any vibes yet?

You're not making any sense Tennes. It's not like I've claimed any secret knowledge; I've been speculating, which is nothing strange at all. I find the fact that you are jumping on me for it quite disturbing actually. Have I gotten close on some point, UB? That would definitely make you uncomfortable, but this is quite obvious, don't you think? :)

The strange noise when Tulas went out of the game must mean something though. Sure, he won't come back to the game, but we haven't had any scene or anything, just some strange stuff we don't really understand. And since Bubba made it clear that the hidden mechanic had something to do with the voting, or so I understood it, so I was thinking that maybe that sound meant something.

Well I'm not sure, although there are already some paranoia spreading, and Tennes is not making any sense. But I still think that lynching the silenced is a good idea at some point. I think that UB is likely to try to keep his head down in the beginning like this, but you never know of course. We should definitely try to get everyone involved in the discussions - no coasting whatsoever should be allowed - we don't have any special roles just a mass of equally important players, besides UB - so nobody needs to hide, again, except UB.

Edit: grammar

What I'm saying, D'riss, is there are ideas that make sense, and ideas that make no sense. You appear to be trying to deliberately read too much into the setup. That isn't claiming secret knowledge, that's trying to muddy the waters and get people jumping at shadows.

No, I'm saying I'm not claiming secret knowledge. I'm not trying to deliberately read too much, I am quite openly confused, man. I am trying to shed light on the shadows, not make people jump at them. But hey, if you think I am confusing things, let me know and I'll try to be more clear. To me though, not much is making sense. But I kinda agree that starting to believe speculation as being set in stone is dangerous at this point. I think I've been pretty clear that I'm only speculating though.

I think Tennes is making sense, but at what point would you start lynching the silenced?

if there is 4 or 5 silenced, and we wait that long and start lynching them, then we are behind and its purely guessing if and when UB silenced himself. Each lynch gets UB another night to silence, and then we will have to worry about the newly silenced.

Im not sure thats the best strategy, unless we start now, in which case UB would have had to have silenced himself first. But waiting would only give UB a head start. I am not sure I agree with what you are saying.

I am not proposing it only as a means to get to UB, but as a means to stop UB from winning. But yeah, it's a pretty controversial strategy. I also agree that if this strategy is going to work, we need to take out pretty much everyone of the silenced. And we don't know what will happen when people do get silenced, which worries my the most.

Edit: Bubba has indicated that different silencing may occur.

Idle speculation on the hidden mechanic - maybe silenced people's vote doesn't count? Would give UB a way to actually reduce his enemies other than lynches, which would make sense since its 17v1 and he doesn't kill. Also jives well with the permanent silencing.
