Maritime law is a specially interesting field for Norway considering how much of the ocean we lay claim to, how long our coastline is, and how many rusted oil tankers travel down the coast from russia.

And, of course, how many whales they hunt ;)

Think about this. With telekenises, you could manipulate every single particle. You could do whatever you want - alchemy to turning a soccer field into a massive golem and beyond. That is if you could concentrate on every little bit.
It can lead into practically every other power. You would be a god.

Hmm... that's a bit overpowered even for me.

*Thinking*

Ah! Icarium. 'Nuff said.

Edit: On second thought, no it's not. Gimme' teh powerz!

Well, the U.S. pretty much refuses to agree to any international treaty that isn't in their advantage. Helps when you've got the biggest Navy in the world, as well.

but a relatively modest commercial fleet. When all is said and done, military power has little to do with maritime law outside of coercion.

I just had a vision of SE reading this thread and going: oh right, that's why I am scared of them...

- Gem, brrainnnzzz

The leader terrified by his followers, what a concept.

Hey, he's the one that said it, not me.

I know. I also have a mental image in my head of SE sitting in a dark room somewhere with his head in hands going: "Oh god, what have I done, what have I done?"

I would say that i would like absolute control over my body.
This would encompass pain control, adrenaline and the stregth i could use and various other things such as concentration, etc.

Makes it harder to pressure the U.S. into agreeing to treaties that aren't in their favor.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
