I take it, the mercs recruit people, whilst the scum kill people.

more specifically, the mercs are likely to have a faction "leader" that everyone else on the faction knows.

From OP:

Quote

There are 5 factions, each unique from one another.

The town of Forks (Town)
The Cullen family of vampires (a merc-like faction)
The Queleti werewolves (a merc-like action)
The Evil Vampires (Scum)
The Coven (Scum)

I don't know what a merc-like faction is, can anyone explain that from a previous game?

probably some mild form of recruitment, seeing how elsewhere in the OP, in the winning conditions, it is mentioned that for the Q-thingies all original members of the Cullens must die, and for the Cullens to win (heavens no...) all original Q-balls must die.

Well Bella Swan can be recruited by either of those factions, but she can be recruited by the town too. Since Town is just Town, it stands to reason that the Cullens and Queleti can recruit 'others,' too. Can the Vampires and Werewolves infect/turn/whatever people in the books?

no clue, but vampires could infect lycantropes and vice versa in Underworld, which, despite Kate Beckinsale in latex, is also utter crap and could thus have been used for mechanics by D'rek, seeing how this is a reckoning with all bad vampire fiction ;)

Well, traditionally Vampire and Werewolf bites turn the victims into Vampire and Werewolf respectively, so I guess that rings true.

I think the question was also if werepires exist in the game ;)
I do wonder... since a vampire doesn't have anything like a blood circulation, how could a vampire ever become infected?

Given they have to eliminate the original members of each other to win, that could get confusing and weird.

that's only if you look at canonical vampires.

when you get to crazy American vampires (a la "blade"), they have circulationg blood, they just lack the ability to retain hemoglobin, which is why they need to get fresh blood constantly.

I strongly doubt Meyer thought that deep, plus she's bound to have descriptions of edward's beating heart, so it's safe to assume they can get infected.
maybe.

yeah. Of course, when you read the OP, you notice that all other factions have something to win by dead Cullens and Que-sera-seras, so I think the cheers when one goes down will be universal ;)

K well then let's talk about winning...

Quote

Victory Conditions:

Town - Eliminate the Cullens, Queleti and all Killers.

Cullens - Eliminate the Evil Vampires, the Coven and all original members of the Queleti

Queleti - Eliminate the Town, and all original members of the Cullens

Evil Vampires - Kill the Cullens, Werewolves, Coven and Bella Swan

Coven - Kill Edward Cullen, Carlisle Cullen, Jacob Black, Billy Black, Charlie Swan, Bella Swan and Renesmee Swan.

To win, you must be the ONLY faction to achieve your victoryconditions. If two factions achieve their victory conditionssimultaneously, then the game does not end and they can try toeliminate each other (and other factions can try and get theirconditions done before either of the winning teams dies so to make it a3-way tie and so on and so forth...)

You can kind of see a spider web of potential faction hate based on the VCs (think Sixty's Lies of Locke Lamora game). The interesting parts are the non-intersecting factions.

Town seems straightforward, but 'all Killers' might mean the entirety of the two scum factions or it might just mean the killing member(s) of those factions?

Cullens can win by ignoring the town and focusing on the other 3 factions. The language also indicates that the Cullens don't need a majority to win if the other factions are defeated. Could be a dangerous faction because it only has to focus on other scum, which are already being hunted.

Queleti can win by ignoring the Evil Vampires AND the Coven! Could be a hard way to win though, considering it's likely Evil Vamps and Coven both have killing powers and Town is likely to be the largest faction.

Evil Vampires are like the Cullens in that they can ignore the town to win, but they need to kill Bella.

Coven need to kill 7 people. Not sure how dangerous they are... certainly a lot more dangerous if some of those people start getting killed.

Kind of looks like Cullen and Evil Vampires are the first priority (Cullens first if they can recruit), although Coven are close because they probably require the fewest kills to win, just from a varied source. Queleti quickly become a threat if none have died and several town are dead, but they appear to be the 'smallest' threat at the moment.

I don't know about you guys but I need a drink. Wouldn't mind grabbing some boobs either.
Everyone knows that Eragon is a star wars facade at best. If your going to go into the gutter do it right. That is the problem with all of these preteen authors just not nasty enough. If I want to read something nasty I will watch a oldporno and put the subtitals on.

Edited to highlite boobs ;)

I've had a few PMs vaguely mentioning/implying this so I'll clarify - a majority is not required to win for any faction. All you need to win is to be the only faction with both: a} at least one player still alive, and b} your victory conditions fulfilled.

Well thanks for that clarification.

I also don't think it's necessarily 3-per faction, but it's probably close. Probably 2-3 Cullens, 2-3 Queleti, 2-3 Evil Vampires, 2-3 Coven, and Bella. Which means 7-12 Town, probably right around 10-11.

If Bella is unaligned, what do people think about the idea that the rest of the Swan family start unaligned too?
