Just beat the game on Nightmare. The Ballistas make short work of the Archdemon, that and Legion of the Dead + Dwarves killing off those Lv10 darkspawn/Lv15 Shrieks. Archdemon was way easy to kill... Morri died like 5 minutes into the fight because I set use poultice when health <25% and lowest poutice, I had a Lesser Healing Poutice rather than my Greater/Potent ones. D: Ending was easier than fighting that Gaxbarg (or whatever) fella in Denerim. Ending pretty good, reminds me of the Arcanum still portrait endings.

Like in that RPG post... I feel more and more games are getting easier. Nightmare wasn't exactly challenging, I had lots of gold and just poultice spammed. Give me Contra anyday. :D

Alastair maxed out Sword/Shield and all of Templar/Champion/Warrior.
Vhailor (Me) maxed out Duelist/Assassin and half of Duel Blades.
Morrigainmaxed out Shapeshifter/Arcane Warrior. The ice tree, the shock tree andthe sleep/hex tree. Hexes are damn useful especially the last 2 makingboss fights a bit easier. The archdemon couldn't even hit me for thefirst 1/4 of his health.
Shale maxed everything.

Anyway, starting a new evil game.
Probably setting up myFall-From-Grace (Me) has Blood Mage/Spirit Healer, Leliana(Bard/Ranger) for DPS/locks/traps, Oghren/Sten (Berserker/Reaver) as mytank and probably Zevran or someone as (Assassin/Duelist) just so I canpick up all the dialogue I didn't get the first time.

If you can, you should try out This mod, with your next play. Mage is still the most powerful, but I've been having a hell of a time in fights (some anyway) with my rogue/assassin. Throw in the dex fix(which jacks up the usefulness of bows as well as fixing daggers not going off of your dex modifier) and I dare you to say it is still easy. Enemy archers with longbows will cut through your light armored people like paper.

So, got my hands on this today. Playing as a mage. Just doing the whole mage tower bit(not the first bit) atm, and hoping to get my hands on some blood magic like I saw at the beginning. Running a party with me, shale, morrigan, and dog.

Probably not the best team in existence i'll admit, and I may end up switching alastair for dog, but hey I prefer dog, and i'm only doing normal atm so it's not too hard.

mind you, how do you name your dogs?
for me, 1st time was Casper (Kacper, which is the polish version of the name, is the name of my RL dog. ya he's an adorable labrador). 2nd I named Toadslayer (not sure I got the name right, but fantasy fans should recognize it!) 3rd time was Diefenbaker (I would be surprised if someone recognizes the reference :D)
not sure what to call the next one, but I try to pick meaningful names for them. what about you?

Would change if I could(Probbaly to nighteyes, having read Hobb recently...) but i'm not sure there's a way.

And holy crap, you're on your third playthrough? Did you complete main quest with the first two or do you have more than one character going at once?

yeah, though I cba to play it right now. completed twice, yes. I have a lot of time on my hands. that will change come tuesday tho, first day at work then!
maybe I'll revisit it in a few days, when I get my buffed up system ready and see it in proper quality and framerate. oh and yes, now I think I do have 2 going at once, since I took a break from my rogue (3rd playthrough) to check out the Dwarf Noble origin... the dwarf coming to Ostagar was the last thing I did in-game for a few days. must say that this origin is my favourite so far though.

Wiggles, after my cat, Neboar after my now-gone puppiewuppy :'(. And Starkar, because my mage's name was Alyxandra. Seemed fitting, if odd in retrospect. Really odd. Not quite Humbert Humbert odd, but perhaps horsesex odd.


Diefenbaker as in the political(I think) guy from canada?



& doggie can be renamed with the toolset (so can your character)

nah, a deaf wolf from Due South. I don't think it's a big series in most places, but I used to watch it every day, always, when I was a kid. one of my favourites really.

I named my dog TRex, because the dog is massive and I thought it would be funny.

Just finished the get aid from the dwarves questline. Enjoyed it, ending was cool.
Having Shale meet Caridan was interesting. Not having the DLC really takes away from the game as scenes like this occur with DLC.
So people who don't buy new have to spend more money. Good way to do business, especially for those who really like the game.
I really want to buy Warden's Keep now, and probably will after I beat the game (can you continue after?)

Now just need to get the elves help and win the war from there.

not sure, but I think theres a regular-member dialog which comes up without shale when you meet caridan. Not as much stuff, but not nothing either. And warden's keep is really bleh next to Shale. 90% of his dialog is more interesting than the entirety of that quest.

And no. The end is the end, until an expansion/sequel comes out.

I can't imagine playing without the warden's keep expansion, that chest is great. Otherwise I'd alsways have a full inventory.

Or is there storage somewhere else I don't know about?

Here's the official explanation of why there's DLC that doesn't really offer much other than the chest, and why there is no other storage in the game.

Should I get Dragon Age on 360 or PC?

What's everyone here playing it on? (I haven't scoured this thread as I don't want spoilers)

I first saw this on the 360, but it costs more, is apparently slightly easier, and doesn't have some view options that the pc version has.

So I'm thinking of getting it on the PC, as the only reason for getting it on the 360 is the bigger screen, although my new monitor is pretty damn fine now.

Think I've convinced myself already, but feel free to answer anyway, as I'd be interested in the differences between the platforms.

Dog's called Rood (and Shan for the mage). For lols, I considered Tinkerbell (I'll accept neg-rep for the blatant Paris Hilton reference) but figured I then wouldn't pick the dog just because of the name.
@ Traveller: if you regularly play mods, get the pc version. If not and you really like blood spattering on a massive screen, xbox is the way to go.

you can connect most pcs to big screen tvs anyhow so if you have the rig i would say pc is the way to go.

I might try out a mod or two to enhance the game's playability time... anything decent like making warriors and rogues on-par with mages out there? perhaps some content mods? maybe some that will enhance XP gain or provide limitless enemies to fight for XP?
