Yes, which is a bit aggravating as it makes investigating the train a little more difficult until we get a better read on the CF.

"Of course... I'll be there at 8 sharp, looking sharp... mkay, bye."

He chuckled softly, to himself, trying to work out the mental math. He'd have to keep it all straight somehow.

~~

He stood up, groaning slightly. It had been a damned long night and he was pretty sure there were going to be a lot more to follow, but he wasn't about to get stymied now by a little fatigue. The man he had been waiting for had just walked in and sat down, ordering a brew.

He walked over the bar and sat next to the behemoth of a man. Looking to break the ice, he said, "So how about those shanties? Looks like a mess for people to live in, right?"

The larger man didn't respond, but calmly drank his beer.

The veteran spoke again. "Hell, it's a wonder they don't all have staph, living in their own filth. Can you be--" but he was stopped short when the larger man turned and spit a large mass of phlegm right on the ground between the two of them. The gesture was not subtle.

Sighing, the grizzled man stood up and tapped the larger man on the shoulder. "Hey buddy... I have a message for you..." The larger man didn't immediately turn around, but slowly stood up, his entire frame slightly dwarfing his counterpart.

Then, with sudden quickness, he spun with a haymaker aimed right at the chatty man's jaw. But the scrapper had already ducked, prepared for such a reaction. He came up from his crouch with a vicious uppercut so hard you could almost hear 'SHOR-YU-KEN' escape his mouth. The large man lay out on the floor, gasping for air. He'd also had a rough night.

"Buddy, like I said... those shanties are a mess. Now clean yourself up." He tossed a bar towel onto the supine man. "And stay away from you-know-what."

He walked out of the bar.

Q: What did Ken say to his son when his son asked him if he could go to the movies with his friends?

A: SHOR-YU-KEN!

And I'm in

- T.

Today's going to be a bit rough on the modding - I will be offline from 5 PM CET to 11 PM CET and PB has a very busy day. Therefore, you may be without coverage for quite some time. Sorry about that.

so glad night didnt actually last twenty four hours, that would have sucked. No cf to explin away korvalain which is a pity, though given the number of near deaths i dont think that will be a problem tonight.

vote spite

You turned that lynch yesterday rather quickly against someone you were happy to vote for when a lynch was unlikely. Also you have filled the thread with nonesense, so seem desperate to get up the levels so its pretty clear you must have some abilities you really want. if you were a symp i would say you were symping silchas, but i get the distinct impression he is just cannon fodder for you to push out front and use as the game goes on.

@Gamelon: It seems pretty clear to me that Korv was a Spy as opposed to Scum/Syndicate given the CF. I mean, he could have been a symp, I guess, but for all intents and purposes when you're analyzing a train on a symp you just do it like you would for any other inno, because the scum don't know who the symp is anyway. I suppose there might have been someone who knew who he was from his national team (whichever that was), but it shouldn't affect discussion too much. What I mean to say is, there is information to be had from the CF, it wasn't a complete waste of time.

And now, it's time for me to get back to work. Will talk later.

i would have preferred another cf to see if tulas theory was correct, or if this was the format all cf's would take.

Have a very busy day, but hope to be on more later. I agree that the best we can hope for with the CF is that he was a symp, but whilst the case was reasonable the way the train turned, reading after the event, does seem remarkable. Will be back before day times out with more thoughts.

I'll be going home in thirty - should be able to check up once every 30 minutes or so as I have chores to do.

What do you mean by role-specific CF, like the suggestions that were made of a neutral player or player whose role hadn't been activated yet? I'll try to look for the PS post that I was thinking of.

Edit: x post

No roles need 'activating'. There are no triggers other than achieving a level (EDIT: although some (passive) abilities have triggers). Nor are there neutral players.
Every spy at the least started as a member of the spy team for his nationality.
Every syndicate started as a member of the syndicate and has a nationality as well, and there are only 4 nationalities in the game.

I had hoped this too would have been clear :)
When in doubt, ask by PM. The worst you can get is:
'read section X of the rules' or 'we're not going to tell you.'
The best is a full explanation.

now that i mention it, there doesnt seem to be anything about a cf. is coroner finder in effect? and to what degree of info does the cf contain?

CF is in effect. It displays the following.

Character name - Faction - Spy or scum.

Player name and role description are left out.

Guess I was wrong, it might say scum as opposed to syndicate.

Edit: Raaah! X-post.

scum= syndicate and the two are used without distinction by the mods. If you read the one, think the other.

Yeah I turned a lynch on to Korvalain. Except for the fact that I originally voted for Emurlahn. You must have missed that smart guy. I was the first one to remove my vote for Sil but obviously there were a lot of other people who were having second thoughts about lynching him to. *sarcasm ahead* Unless I am just so good that I was able to vote for someone else and then go offline and convince 7 people to vote for the person that I wasn't voting for* I think that is it. Your trying to strawman a vote on to me.

So OMGUS

Vote Gamelon

Next time come up with a real reason not bullshit.

I went and had a look back around where the change happened, and I can definitely see what you mean about Spite. I couldn't find a comment from him on the Emurlahn 'case', which as far as I can tell is just some really obscure possible hint that Emurlahn is British, not really much of a case at all, but he still seemed eager to put a vote on him rather than on Silchas. The Korvalain case had some merit, so I can understand him being enthusiastic about that, but to object to the case on Silchas on the grounds of there not being enough evidence and then be willing to vote for Emurlahn does seem pretty contradictory.

It's early in the day, so I'll toss a vote out there and see what sort of response comes back from Spite.

EDIT: Vote Spite

Forgot to include that initially...

EDIT2: Crosspost with Spite.

Oooh, prickly! Gamelon's case isn't particularly good, 'tis true. Would you be so kind as to address my concerns now, please. It the fact that you initially voted for Emurlahn that makes me suspicious, after all.
