Hi all,

I was wondering how hard it would be to obtain hardcover versions of all the Malazan book of the fallen titles would be? I ask because I have all the other titles in paperback but I really want to buy Dust of Dreams now and not have to wait another year. I'm a bit anal when it comes to my books which means if I get the hardcover version for Dust of Dreams I'll have to get all the rest, it's only right.

Regards.

It might be a bit tricky getting them in MATCHING hardbacks. Look on amazon, and on amazon.uk.

You can generally get all the hardbacks on Amazon - but like RLY said, to make sure they will match, make sure they're the same edition. If you're getting Dust of Dreams now I'll assume you're getting it from amazon.uk? Isn't the UK version the only one available now? I'd suggest staying away from TOR.

Yeah, if you want them matching, don't get TOR books. They've switched over to a slight variation of the UK covers from DoD onwards, so any Tor collection will inevitably be mismatched. Also, getting some of the earlier ones in hardback will be tricky. Matching is your greatest concern, though. Gardens of the Moon has 4 different covers, for instance, and Memories of Ice has 3, so watch what edition you get. I would suggest getting them in this format though, as they look the coolest:

By the way, if you use Amazon.co.uk, buy them using the link on the main page, www.malazanempire.com. That way the forum gets $$$.

I've been looking on the waterstones website and Dust of Dreams is published in the UK by Bantam Press. I've had a quick look on amazon.co.uk and they have a couple under the same publisher and one Toll the Hounds published by TOR going for £75!

If I do decide to put myself through this it could it mean big money in the future? I would do it for love first obviously.

The early UK editions do not exist in hardback, I'm afraid. Though there will be a hardback of Gardens of the Moon released later this year to celebrate its ten-year anniversary :p

Which I wil be purchasing to replace my incredibly knackered paperback. Hardback's definitely the way to go with MBotF, the spines of the paperbacks just can't take more than about 10 re-reads due to the epicness of them. :p

Me too, though my paperback GOTM is coverless and held together by tape...

I did leave it outside overnight during a frost, however. So I'm hardly blameless... My hardcovers have treated me very well overall.
