Okay, so basically this is a series of videos from a place called http://www.nerdballoon.com - "The interview guy" has some kid play various old classics and see's what the kid thinks of the games. As expected the kid is in no way prepared for the difficulty in these games compared to todays child like difficulty of the next gen.

games were so hard in the beginning it was ridiculous. no save points at all. it was just relentless. will check these out later.

The only ones of these I remember playing is Contra (which I agree wasn't veru good even back then) and TMNT which was an AWESOME NES game.
I have to agree with the mention of the music in Megaman 2 though, it sounds great. They didn't have much to work with back then, but what they did with those bip bip sounds was amazing.
I really wish I could try out battletoads. /b/ is in love with the game, and after watching some of the youtube gameplay videos I can certainly understand that. Even today, the gameplay looks like a lot of fun.
