I was wondering if any of the artists would be interested in making a piece with the Malazan Pedantic Bear?

Maybe we could make it a contest, and the winner goes on the next Malazan T-shirt. Like Urbs "Keeper".

What are you calling the Malazan pedantic bear? Do you have a particular image in mind.

Something a la Pedobear, but not him, that's how Ray wanted him originally I think :p

The Pedantic images we've used have all been real bears with captions added. I think that also the most fitting ones.

The Pedantic Bear is used when ever something posts some redundant or wrong but most often it's used when people nitpick and feel a need to point out the smallest of flaws. It's meant as a humorous pointer at people's own pedantry.

Here's a bunch of pedantic bear captions:

That's one idea. Alternatively someone should do a new Scary Mob and have a big pedantic bear in it.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

*squints...

Cougar... your Bear looks a lot like your avi. :p (Much better than I could do though.)
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

OK still just a sketch so the main problem with a pedantic bear cartoon is making him look sufficiently pedantic, the legs need some more work but I'm pretty pleased with the idea of the top half, naturally I can do it a lot better than this when I'm not sitting in my office pretending to work!

I wonder if he might benefit from a paw raised in objection?

Oh and that is his tail.

That's not a tail. That's a pig standing behind him

Pedopig is silently raping Pedantic Bear from behind. Hence the arched eyebrow.

Ahh, Cougar, I would rep you if I could. Those are great. The captions are good too. In the second one is Pedantic Bear pointing at the viewer? If so, I think it needs to be more obvious. That's my only suggestion, really. They're awesome.
